To keep ladies underage football progressing
Equally for girls
Signing for all the girls around the country that are being denied their chance at representing their county, particularly the U18 girls, most of whom will never get to wear the county jersey again. All the years of hard work and time given by the coaches and the girls, to be left with nothing to play for is shocking. So much for #20x20 equality.
Also, the 2020 minor teams have been completely forgotten about, having got to play 1 match last year, having trained all of 2019 into 2020 for that competition (while the minor boys competition went ahead and will be finished out this year)??
I think everyone involved with GAA should enjoy it to its fullest potential
Younger girls mentality
both the mens and camogie associations have decided to proceed with their competitions so why are the LGFA going down this road. Our girls need as much competitive games as they can get, to help improve their overall play.
Equality
I have a lot of family members missing out on a year with the county team
Both my daughters play underage for their counties and both have made a lot of friends from playing All Ireland. It is such a great achievement to be selected to play for your county and i think they should be allowed to participate fully
Girls from my club have put huge effort in to being selected to represent their county team.
The girls deserve their shot at the big time. This may be the only time they get to play on the big stage. If the GAA can finish off last years minor championship as well as have an all Ireland championship this year then there is no excuse for the LGFA not to run the underage all Ireland’s
I played with the cork minors it is a very important competition to many
Mother of 2 daughters and 2 sons, these games should show our children equality, with both given same opportunity and importance, very unfair at moment.
Tá na cluichí seo tábhachtach mar nach mbeidh an Dara deis ag na girseachaí.
My daughter played last year for team during this period she grew in confidence and spirit whilst making a good network connection
I have 2 daughters who play, one for the county and after the last 18 months, we need something to bring their passion back.
Girls need to be striving to improve all the time, what better way of doing this than winning a national competition
As a lgf player I believe all girls of all ages have the right to play the same as the men & camogie. To only cancel the underage girls football and not any other is a disgrace and a let down after all the effort put into promoting lgf.
It's for all the girls that want to play football firstly & then to play foitball for their county.
The Minor Ladies should be allowed to play
Keep teen females interested in sport
I think this age group deserves to play the all Ireland series as they have been away form sport way too long
Sport for women is very important particularly this age group and should get equal opportunity to men
Because my daughter has worked so hard, continually training throughout Covid all
Alone to be ready for when she could return to football, it’s a slap in the face especially seen as the boys competition is going ahead. Level the playing field?? Yes, let’s! Such a dangerous message being sent to our girls.
It enables the girls to showcase their talents and hard work
Please don’t deny young girls the opportunity to play for their county
The kids have been training so hard for it.
My daughter plays under age in Ballyduff and we have alot of girls in the academy.
It is a complete slap in the face that these tournaments are being shelved, what in the name of God is the GAA doing to our girl's?
This is being taken very personally by all involved in the club. Please sort it out.
Equality
I am a current ladies footballer and I believe it is important for underage girls to have a purpose, incentive or dream to play for their county and to have the opportunity to win an all Ireland.
