Disability Discrimination in Ireland

Because I feel unsafe to shop for food for fear of discrimation and even violent reactions from other members of the public. I fear not being able to simply go out and get what I need to take care of myself far beyond these particular times. I fear living in a society where this kind of discrimation is the norm. I am in disbelief that it has become as normal as it has already in the space of about six months.. I fear for the upcoming generations and the messages they will be absorbing about how it is okay to treat other people. I feel a lot of progress we as a society have made against discrimination seems to be unravelling. Plesse don't let this continue.

A peer reviewed study has already been published to show there is no real evidence to show masks work as a preventative measure.

Because wearing face masks does not suppress a virus. There is no scientific evidence supporting face masks in public. The mandatory wearing of masks is causing great distress and is also at the root of the recent explosion of discrimination against customers attempting to purchase items or avail of services.

Discrimination is unacceptable in any form but especially when people are subjected to it in the course of obtaining goods and services in this free country

Human rights are being violated this has to stop Now !

Because Masks make me anxious & i feel like a prisoner in my home as i don't go into a shop unless i absolutely have no other choice, i get my shopping delivered.... i don't feel they are warranted & we did better without them.

This scientifically unsubstantiated face coverings mandate should not be in place at all for healthy people. All this is based on the assumption that there is so called asymptomatic spread which is not true and has been proven to be untrue. It is adding stress to people's lives and has a massive potential to harm people both physically and mentally. The fear propaganda from the Irish government and the media is causing people to get more aggressive towards people not willing to submit to the madness of wearing the masks. This is dangerous. I do not want my children living in a place that allows for their basic human rights to breathe fresh air be taken away from people.

I lost my job over not being able to wear a face covering (medically exempt - I have gp letter)

I have been discriminated against in my local Supervalu even though I have told them I'm exempt due to a disability.

We all have rights and should not be discriminated against

I have been discriminated against on many occasions for not being able to wear a face mask and although my needs are provided for under the legislation not to have to wear one, this has not been adhered to and I feel the laws are not being followed that provide for me and many others and this needs to be addressed and changed. Also there is not enough scientific evidence that wearing face masks stops the spreading and catching of any virus, as there is much scientific debate in this regard, so, without universal consensus, I should not be forced to wear something that causes me severe distress and which may also impede my health further.

I value our rights and personal freedoms and do not accept them being taken from us in the knowledge that this is directly affecting us, our children and our future generations. This is not a world I want my children to inherit, it is unacceptable and inhuman.

To protect our civil liberty and to stop our freedoms being eroded one step at a time that we will never have back. Also, it is the path to Totalitarianism.

Because I feel that face coverings are in effective as the majority of people dont use them correctly.

I don’t want to be forced to wear a face covering/ get a mandatory vaccine/ aid the introduction of vaccine passports which in turn give the government complete control of your freedom

The measures to fight a virus is beyond all imaginable. People suffer more because of those measures, than they are from the virus.

Erosion of our rights by government is something that we must all fight against. They are meant to be our servants our representatives. If not then they are against the people who elected them. Erosion of rights is proof of that
