Make Dance Schools Essential For Mental Health In Ireland

As a dancer and for my passion and hobby to be taken away from me and seen as un essential is ludicrous. My mental health was already deteriorating with the stress of college and my only escape was dance. But yet other non essential shops and services etc. Are open. Please give me back my hobby atleast.

My son loves to dance, it’s his outlet for exercise and social connections. The benefits are multilayered, he gets a huge mood boost from dancing, it keeps him fit and he gets to have fun with like minded people.

I am a dance teacher and have seen the positive effects that dancing on the mental health and self esteem of both children and adults.
