Inclusion must not depend on place of residence – Equal blind allowance, fair assistance for the vis

We demand action instead of empty words and call for the immediate statutory implementation of the following points:
1. Federalization and Standardization of Financial Assistance:
* The blind and visually impaired allowance (Blinden- und Sehbehindertengeld) must become an exclusive federal matter to end the current unequal treatment by the federal states.
* Standardized Blind Allowance: Nationwide increase to an absolute minimum standard of €700.
* Standardized Visually Impaired Allowance: Nationwide equalization for all affected individuals, as the everyday hurdles are identical.

2. Automatic, Statutory Indexation:
* Enshrining an automatic, annual adjustment of these compensatory allowances (e.g., linked to pension increases or parliamentary remuneration) to halt the loss of purchasing power caused by inflation.

3. Mandatory Accessibility in Hospitals and Public Offices:
* Statutory obligation for professional, seamless guidance systems for the blind on every state and public hospital campus (mandatory from the emergency room to a 24/7 staffed information desk).
* True Orientation in Public Offices: Abolition of inadequate visual/acoustic queuing systems ("ding-dong" announcements). Instead, a statutory obligation for comprehensive tactile and acoustic guidance systems, alongside accessible spatial concepts, that guarantee independent orientation right to the final destination.

Stop the Development of a Child Care Centre at 60 Brooke Ave, Killarney Vale

The Ark Group, a Sydney-based developer, wants to build a 3-Level Child Care Centre on a suburban house block at 60 Brooke Ave, on the corner of Yangoora St, Killarney Vale.
We believe this development is inappropriate at that location due to traffic, parking and pedestrian safety concerns.
This development would also see the removal of 2 historically significant Norfolk Island Pines.
It is also debatable whether another childcare centre is required in this area with a number of local centres having space available.

Request for Review of the Leadership of the Afghanistan Football Federation

We respectfully call on FIFA and AFC to conduct an independent review of the current leadership of the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF).
Many members of the Afghan football community, including former players, coaches, and football professionals, have serious concerns about the federation's leadership, management, transparency, and development of football in Afghanistan.
Among those raising concerns is former national team coach and former national team player Ali Asghar Akbarzada, who has for many years called for greater accountability and reform within Afghan football.
We request that FIFA and AFC examine these concerns, review any available evidence, and take appropriate action to ensure transparent, professional, and effective leadership of Afghan football.

What Do We Want? Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time Remake! When Do We Want It? 5000 Years Ago!

To Ubisoft,
We, the undersigned fans of the Prince of Persia franchise, respectfully ask Ubisoft to reaffirm its commitment to releasing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake and to provide the community with a clear development update and roadmap.
For more than twenty years, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has remained one of gaming's most beloved action-adventure titles. Its innovative parkour, time-manipulation mechanics, environmental storytelling, and unforgettable atmosphere inspired an entire generation of games. Many players still regard it as one of the most influential titles ever created.
The remake's announcement generated enormous excitement among longtime fans and introduced a new audience to the series. However, years of delays, development changes, and limited communication have left the community uncertain about the project's future.
We understand that creating a high-quality remake takes time and resources. We would rather wait for a great game than receive an unfinished one. Nevertheless, fans who have supported this franchise for decades deserve transparency and reassurance that this landmark title will not be forgotten.
By signing this petition, we ask Ubisoft to:
1. Publicly reaffirm that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake remains a priority project.
2. Provide regular development updates to the community.
3. Share a realistic timeline for future announcements and release expectations.
4. Deliver the remake with the quality and care that made the original a gaming classic.

Prince of Persia helped define modern action-adventure gaming and laid the groundwork for many franchises that followed. The passion for this series remains strong, and the demand for a faithful, high-quality remake is clear.
The Sands of Time taught us that time can be rewound. We hope it is not too late to bring this legendary adventure back to players around the world.
Sign this petition if you want to see Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake released.

We call on the management (Vorstand) of the Berliner Bäder-Betriebe (BBB) to introduce a clear, three-tier speed separation for the swimming lanes at Sommerbad Kreuzberg (Prinzenbad): "Slow Swimming", "Medium Pace", and "Fast Swimming". This measure is fundamentally necessary to minimize the acute risk of injury caused by massive speed differences in the pool and to ensure an organized environment. This ongoing safety issue is now further exacerbated by the upcoming closure of all indoor pools in Berlin for the summer vacation, leaving fitness swimmers and triathletes with zero training alternatives and making safe lanes at Prinzenbad more critical than ever.

Mass surveillance of the residents of the Lafayette community is not a light subject and we should have been involved with the decision. Remaining quiet about these cameras can lead to your voice and privacy being threatened. Mass surveillance is not the answer to solving crime.

Justice Delayed, Is Justice Denied! I Demand Justice For My Son!

I am Vanessa Le Roux, Mother to Kylo Le Roux, a second year BA. Humanities Student at Stellenbosch University.
I've been an Education activist for 14 years, fighting for the right to education for every child in this country, especially the poor and marginalised.
"On 2 March 2026, my child was a victim of an attack on his dignity and privacy in which his room was entered into unlawfully and the contents of the room unceremoniously removed and his personal belongings thrown all over the room. This was done by 4 Afrikaner boys. Although we have brought the name of the 4th boy under the attention of the university, this boy have not even been charged, we provided them with the statement/account of the witness, nothing has been done.
My Son was treated like the perpetrator from day one, while the real perpetrators enjoyed the protection from all fronts, we can be critical, but we must be fair, I want to thank Stellenbosch Police officers, for the really kind way they have treated me and my Son. The Investigating offficer Sgt Otto, from day one have treated us like this is not serious, he even on day one had and opinion, making us believe that he believes this white Afrikaner boy, the same boy who identified the perpetrators infront of 5 other people.
For 3 months, 6 cases later, my Son was treated horribly, he was intimidated, victimized, threatened, and even the university have entered the fray, by sending him a letter with false claims, not once did my Son said anything publicly about this case, his Mother refused to be silent, because this case is bigger then him, many students of colour suffer mentally under racism, and their toxic masculinity, and everything are just being swept under the carpet, and no one holds
them accountable, this Mother have no intention of walking away, like all the others did.
Every year we hear and read about what is happening at this university, my child is going nowhere, that is a South African University, standing under South African laws, walking away is not an option, change have to come.
For 3 months, I lie awake, fearing for my Son's safety, on the 29th of April, Management appeared infront of the Portfolio committee, where the injustice and terrible handling of the matter were laid bare, absolutely nothing happened to them, just another PR exercise. I wrote to the following people, numerous of emails, everytime an incident happened.
1. The SPP - "...I believe Mr. Marquard is not being serious in examining the facts and applying the law to bring charges against these boys who admitted to entering my son's room unlawfully. The date of 19 June, as given to SAPS by him i.t.o. which the docket must be returned to him perpetuates my son's persecution and maintains the seemingly comfortable positions these perpetrators are enjoying.
2. The DPP - the worst, those people's animosity they couldn't even hide.
3. The Minister of Justice -say she cant do anything.
4. The Minister of Higher Education, read, and dont even respond.
5. The NPA - refered me back to the very same people I complaint about, and also did nothing, even when I showed them these people are lying.
6. Adv Andy Mhotibi - Head of the NPA, didn't even respond, after I have send him all the case numbers, proof of all the threats.
7. Stellenbosch University - These perpetrators were found guilty, they pleaded guilty from the Start, a verdict/sanctions were made on the same day of the DC, the 12th of Mat 2026, they were expelled from all SU residences, 50 hours community services, and the verdict was suppose to be published on the notice boards. They had 5 days to appeal, they dragg this thing because they are protecting them, while they victimize my Son.
I will not stop seeking justice for my Son, everything I say can be backed up with evidence. I am questioning the Justice system, why are you protecting white privelege? How many children of colour must still die, or want to commit suicide at Stellenbosch University? Why are you silent witnesses when these criminals acts are being done to our children, and they are being stripped of their dignity?
Mr Marquard, Adv Mhotibi, if anything happens to my child, I will lay it infront of your door!
The most important question, ARE YOU TREATING THIS CASE IN THIS MANNER, AND ALLOW MY CHILD TO SUFFER, BECAUSE HE IS A COLOURED?
This vicious cruel actions towards our children needs to stop, for how long must our children still suffer? I ask you to please sign this petition, I need answers, previous victims needs answer, current students of colour suffering in silence needs answers.
The Prosecuting Authority need to answer us as the public, WHO WILL PROTECT OUR CHILDREN IF YOU FAVOUR THOSE WITH WEALTH?

Demand for Stronger Baboon Management Measures - Betty's Bay

Petition to Overstrand Municipality: Demand for Stronger Baboon Management Measures
We, the undersigned residents and stakeholders of the Overstrand region, hereby call upon the Municipality to adopt a more decisive and effective approach to baboon management.
Background:
The current situation has become untenable. Baboons are causing extensive damage to property, disrupting daily life, and threatening the safety and wellbeing of residents. Increasingly, they are not only raiding homes but also forcing entry into houses and vehicles, creating a direct physical threat to residents. Due to the current lack of effective action, the neighbourhood has become their primary food source, further encouraging aggressive and destructive behaviour. While we acknowledge the ecological importance of baboons, the balance between conservation and community protection has tipped dangerously out of alignment.
Our Demands:
Reintroduction of Paintball Markers for Baboon Monitors
* Paintball markers have historically proven to be an effective, non-lethal deterrent. Their removal has weakened the ability of monitors to manage baboon incursions.
* We demand their immediate reinstatement to empower monitors with practical tools to keep baboons at bay.

Confine Baboons to the Mountain Side
* The baboons must be actively discouraged from entering residential and urban areas.
* A clear and consistent management strategy should be implemented to ensure baboons remain in their natural habitat, minimizing human-wildlife conflict.

Conclusion:
We urge Overstrand Municipality to act swiftly and decisively. Failure to address this issue undermines public safety, damages property, and erodes trust in local governance. By reintroducing proven deterrents and enforcing stricter habitat boundaries, the Municipality can restore balance and protect both residents and wildlife. Unless significant and immediate action is taken, we will exercise our democratic right to vote for new leadership in the upcoming municipal election.
We demand action now.

Bring Dragon back on The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch tv show

After a brief leave to tend to his sick son, Dragon was unable to rejoin his spot on the TV show. Dragon is not just another cast member; he is one of the original team members and has been since owner Brandon Fugal purchased the ranch in 2016. He is very loved by teammates and audience. He has a special magnetic charm that can't be acted but exudes purely.
The show has real people doing what many viewers believe is an actual scientific experiment that may lead to important discoveries. Brandon Fugal has publicly stated that he wants what is filmed to be real and not sensationalized. The team has heart. Dragon is a huge part of it.
In my opinion, what is happening here is a real team of people, brought together organically, that is reminiscent of a Fellowship on a quest to make discoveries that can help humanity. To me, the owner and team alike do not come across as grifters or people simply trying to make money. Without Dragon, a major beloved core part of this Fellowship has been cut out of the story, the experiment, and the adventure.
As a fan, I hope those responsible for casting decisions will reconsider and find a way to invite him back.
There is a huge hole when viewing the show. Something is missing: Dragon. It's heartbreaking. What is most compelling about the show is watching the journey unfold. It's like they have killed off a main character. Dragon is currently still working as lead security on the ranch, but can you imagine not being able to participate in the scientific experiment and with his team?
My understanding is that Dragon stepped away from the show in order to be with his severely ill son during a difficult time. As a fan, I deeply admire that choice.
Please help get him back on the show, doing the experiments, by signing this petition that will be submitted to the History Channel and those involved with the production.
Thank you so much!
Merilee Moscardelli, Just a fan.

Works postponed***Protect Greystones, North Beach, Sand Martins, postpone repairs to September

UPDATE ******
Thank you so much to everyone who signed and got involved. The works have been postponed pending an environmental impact assessment
There are Sandmartins nesting in the banks on the North Beach, right at the ramp down to the beach. Sisk (developers of Marina Village) have engaged a contractor to begin substantial works to repair the ramp accessing the North Beach, starting this Monday.
While I appreciate that these repairs need to be carried out, the works will take place immediately beside the Sand Martin nesting banks.
By all accounts, Sand Martins are a sensitive species and there is a risk that excessive disturbance could cause them to abandon their nests during the breeding season.
We are asking that these works be postponed until Autumn, when the Sand Martins have started their journey to Subsaharan Africa.

Reinstatement of Coach Damien

Petition of Support for Coach Damien
We, the undersigned parents, players, and supporters, wish to formally express our support for Coach Damien and the positive impact he has had on the development of our young men both on and off the field/court.
Coach Damien has consistently demonstrated leadership, commitment, discipline, and a genuine investment in the growth and wellbeing of the players under his guidance. His influence extends beyond sport and contributes to the development of character, resilience, accountability, and teamwork.
We believe that the success of any youth sporting program should be measured not only by results, but by the positive environment created for young athletes to learn, develop, and mature. Many families have witnessed these qualities firsthand through Coach Damien’s involvement.
This petition is not intended to criticise any individual or organisation. Rather, it is intended to communicate the strong support that exists within the playing and parent community for Coach Damien and the value he brings to the program.
We respectfully request that the relevant decision-makers take into consideration the views of the families and players who have directly benefited from Coach Damien’s coaching, mentorship, and leadership.
Signed,
Parents, Players, and Supporters

End Period Poverty : Free Pads For All Women and Girls

Access to sanitary pads is a basic necessity that supports health, dignity, and equal opportunities. However, many women and girls are unable to afford menstrual products, which can affect their education, work, and daily lives. Providing free sanitary pads would help reduce period poverty and ensure that no one is disadvantaged because of a natural biological process. We call on the relevant authorities to make sanitary pads freely available to women and girls in need. Sign this petition to support menstrual health, dignity, and equality for all.
What We Want to Achieve:
This petition aims to make free sanitary pads accessible to women and girls, particularly in schools, universities, public healthcare facilities, and community centres. Our goal is to ensure that no one is prevented from learning, working, or participating in daily activities because they cannot afford menstrual products.
How It Can Be Achieved and Implemented:
This can be achieved through partnerships between government departments, schools, healthcare facilities, non-profit organisations, and private companies. Funding can be allocated through public health and education programmes, while sanitary pads can be distributed through schools, clinics, universities, and community centres. By working together, these stakeholders can create a sustainable system that provides reliable access to menstrual products for those who need them most.
Together, we can help create a future where every woman and girl can manage her period with dignity, confidence, and the support she deserves.

Help Us Protect Our Southwark Park Tennis Coaches from Heat‑Related Health Risks

Our NTA tennis coaching team at Burgess Park, Geraldine Mary Harmsworth, Tanner Street, Southwark Park and Brunswick Park spends long hours on court, often in direct sun, with limited access to shade. To keep them safe and reduce the risk of heat‑related illness, we’re asking the club to install simple shade solutions like parasols or canopies.
Please add your name to this petition and help ensure a safer working environment for our coaches.
Petition: Protect Tennis Coaches from Heat‑Related Health Risks
We, the undersigned, call on the management of Southwark Parks Tennis to take immediate steps to safeguard the health and safety of our tennis coaching staff during hot weather conditions. Coaches spend prolonged periods on court with limited opportunity for rest or shade, placing them at increased risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
To fulfil the club’s duty of care and ensure a safe working environment, we request the installation of adequate shade solutions—such as fixed canopies, portable parasols, or other effective coverings—on all coaching courts. These measures are essential to reducing exposure to extreme heat and preventing avoidable health hazards.
By implementing practical shade provisions, the club will demonstrate its commitment to staff wellbeing, legal health‑and‑safety obligations, and the long‑term sustainability of its coaching programme

Passengers must not be penalized for choosing modern, purely digital, and transparent mobility alternatives to safely reach their destinations when trains are canceled at short notice or stops are arbitrarily omitted.
Perugia Declaration 2026
This evening (15 April 2026), as part of the Unofficial Green Room conversation in Perugia on the sidelines of the 20th International Journalism Festival, we invite those in the room — and those working across journalism more broadly — to commit to a shared starting point:
That the environmental crisis must not be treated as an optional topic or a reactive story but covered with the consistency, depth, and accountability it demands.
And that, as organisations and individuals, we must also begin to align what we report with how we operate — recognising our own environmental impact, taking responsibility for it, and where we can make a positive difference.

Born following the closure of the Maison des Cultures du Monde (House of World Cultures) in December 2025, the Maison du Patrimoine Vivant (House of Living Heritage) brings together those curious about intangible cultural heritage—ordinary citizens, informed amateurs, and professionals—as well as community organizations from Vitré and beyond.
Together, they wish to build a project where cultures and practices meet. Vitré and its Benedictine priory, at the gateway to Brittany, embody this crossroads of encounters and openness to the world. Through exhibitions, workshops, and events, the Maison du Patrimoine Vivant aims to be a laboratory for experiencing living heritage, to be lived and passed on.
In a context of cultural fragility and isolation, this project needs everyone's support to strengthen it and demonstrate its social and cultural value.

Support Digestive-Sensitive Inclusion in Restaurants, Cafés, and Hospitality Spaces

People living with digestive conditions such as IBS, bloating, reflux, cramps, food sensitivities, stress-sensitive digestion, and other chronic gastrointestinal issues often experience more than physical discomfort.
Many gradually become socially isolated and anxious about eating in public spaces due to:
• uncertainty about food ingredients,
• fear of symptoms,
• lack of suitable options,
• embarrassment,
• and the absence of supportive hospitality practices.
While allergen information has become increasingly standardized and legally recognized in many countries, people with non-allergic digestive sensitivities still face significant barriers when dining outside their homes.
We believe that restaurants, cafés, bars, and hospitality providers can become more inclusive through simple, realistic, and non-medical supportive measures.

Open letter to Olympic Committee

OPEN LETTER
to the International Olympic Committee
We, representatives of the media community, human rights organizations, and civil society, address the International Olympic Committee regarding a situation that raises serious public concern and, in our opinion, requires an ethical assessment by the institutions of the international Olympic movement.
This concerns the actions of Gadzhi Gadzhiev, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who initiated legal proceedings in Ukraine against investigative journalist and head of the independent media outlet BASE, Natalya Sadykova.
According to available information, the lawsuit is related to Natalya Sadykova’s professional activities and her publications on matters of significant public interest. The claims reportedly include demands to remove materials, publish a retraction, and pay compensation.
Natalya Sadykova is also recognized as a victim in a criminal case in Ukraine related to the murder of her husband, journalist Aidos Sadykov. This circumstance gives the situation particular public significance and requires heightened attention to any actions that may affect her professional activities, safety, and right to freedom of expression.
Furthermore, according to available information, within the framework of this criminal proceeding, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine sent a request to the Republic of Kazakhstan concerning the questioning of Gadzhi Gadzhiev. The mention of a high-ranking sports official’s name in materials connected with such an investigation, in our opinion, raises legitimate questions from the standpoint of the reputational, ethical, and institutional standards applicable to representatives of the Olympic movement.
In addition, open sources, including the Myrotvorets database, contain information and assessments concerning his activities. In view of the position he holds, this circumstance, in our opinion, also deserves attention as part of an ethical assessment.
We believe that legal actions against a journalist in connection with publications on matters of public interest may be perceived as a form of pressure and may create a chilling effect on freedom of speech, independent journalism, and public oversight.
This situation is of particular concern given Gadzhi Gadzhiev’s position as Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan — an institution that should embody the principles of integrity, transparency, respect for fundamental rights, and public trust.
In this regard, we call on the International Olympic Committee to:
pay attention to this situation;
assess the actions of Gadzhi Gadzhiev within the framework of the ethical standards of the Olympic movement;
consider the question of his suitability for the position he holds;
consider the possibility of taking measures within the IOC’s competence, should grounds be established through the appropriate procedure;
take measures aimed at protecting the reputation, values, and principles of the Olympic movement.
Freedom of speech, the protection of journalists, and the inadmissibility of pressure on independent media are integral principles of a democratic society and an important part of ensuring transparency and accountability.
This letter is open for signature

Speed Limit Signs on Western Ave!

If you live, drive, walk, bicycle, jog, or otherwise use Western Avenue, you likely know speeding vehicles are a persistent problem. Western is a major thoroughfare in Mattoon with feeder traffic from arterial roads and side streets that contribute to the increasing volume of traffic. But why are there no posted speed limit signs? It seems bizarre considering the number of pedestrians that use Western Avenue and that it serves busy Lytle Park and Riddle Elementary. Furthermore, the problem of speeding vehicles on Western is not simply a matter of subjective opinion. The city's own Mattoon Safety Action Plan, adopted in July 2025, identified Western Ave as one of "the most dangerous areas when it comes to speeding in the city." (MSAP, Western Ave from 19th to 34th St, pg. 18)

STOP! Parking crisis in Belval, Luxembourg

Formal complaint regarding the discriminatory exclusion of Belval residents from the residential parking permit system and the abusive ticketing policy.
1. A Unique Discrimination: The Only Residential Area Without a Parking Permit
Belval and Waassertrap constitue the only residential area in the commune of Sanem whose inhabitants are automatically denied the right to obtain a residential parking permit (vignette). This arbitrary exclusion creates a manifest breach of equal treatment among citizens of the same commune. The urban planning argument aimed at making Belval a car-free "eco-district" cannot mask the daily reality: many households require a vehicle for professional or family reasons, and the configuration of current infrastructure fails to meet this fundamental need.
2. The Critical Insufficiency of Infrastructure and the 2-Hour Maximum Parking Limit
The neighborhood is undergoing massive and continuous real estate densification. Numerous large-scale construction projects are currently underway, which will bring a considerable influx of new residents and daily commuters in the short term. Yet, in the face of this exponential population growth, no additional public surface parking infrastructure is planned—quite the contrary: the number of public surface parking spaces remains abysmal.
Furthermore, street parking is strictly limited to a maximum of 2 hours per day. This mathematical rule is completely incompatible with residential life:
* It heavily penalizes healthcare professionals (nurses, physiotherapists) providing home care to dependent individuals.
* It prevents relatives, family, or visitors of residents from staying longer than 120 minutes without facing an immediate fine.
* It ignores the reality of households owning a second vehicle, as private underground spaces are often limited to a single unit per apartment and are financially inaccessible for many.

3. Failure of Collective Parking Facilities and Traffic Spillover into the Streets
The current crisis is dramatically worsened by the failing and inconsistent management of existing major parking infrastructures:
* The CFL P&R: This major peripheral facility remains largely underutilized during major events and is poorly integrated into the daily proximity needs of local residents.
* The Belval-Plaza underground parking lot (operated by Indigo): Its management has been nothing short of catastrophic for several years. Automated ticket machines and payment terminals are regularly out of order. During events in Belval—and more specifically, during the almost daily concerts at the Rockhal—hundreds of motorists find themselves trapped inside for hours due to technical malfunctions. Consequently, visitors overwhelmingly prefer to saturate residential streets on the surface, where parking is simpler and cheaper, to the direct detriment of residents.

4. A Disproportionate and Punitive Ticketing Policy
Instead of forcing private operators like Indigo or the Rockhal to assume their logistical responsibilities or redirecting traffic flows to dedicated parking lots, the commune deploys its enforcement officers aggressively. Enforcement is already highly intensive from Monday to Saturday during the day, but even takes place in the evening during concerts, outside of paid parking hours, directly targeting residents who are trapped by the regional influx. Inhabitants are thus doubly penalized: denied a permit and taxed outside their own homes.
5. Our Legitimate Demands
* Parking Permit for Belval: Immediate creation and allocation of a specific residential parking permit (vignette) for the Belval residential zone.
* Parking Duration: Removal of the parking time limit for residents holding a residential parking permit.
* Operator Regulation: Firm intervention with Indigo to resolve the recurring breakdowns at Belval-Plaza that saturate public space, alongside implementing a redirection of traffic flows toward dedicated parking facilities.
* Urban Planning: A comprehensive reassessment of surface parking spaces to integrate future residents of buildings under construction as well as daily commuters.

Petition to preserve the world heritage of Plečnik’s Market and Vodnik Square monuments

Recently, public attention has turned to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning's decision to approve the construction of an underground car park beneath Vodnik Square in Ljubljana. Notably, the area has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2021, thanks in part to Plečnik’s Covered Market (photo credits: © Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana. Source: Nomination File).The planned construction also directly threatens unique national monuments, including St. Nicholas Cathedral and the Seminary Palace, as well as the architectural heritage of the parish house, the renowned Maher House, and a row of medieval townhouses along the southern edge of Vodnik Square. The project would also completely destroy the Vodnik Square archaeological site, including the tombs of Ljubljana’s noble families in the former cemetery.
In preparing for construction, including the World Heritage Impact Assessment, the investor—the City of Ljubljana—and the administrative authority, in this case the Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning, managed the entire process in a non-transparent and exclusionary manner. Numerous concerns raised by civil society and well-founded opinions from the expert community were completely disregarded, even though member states of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention are required to ensure public participation in the management of such sites. UNESCO’s Operational Guidelines for the Implementation of the World Heritage Convention clearly require Member States to respect heritage rights in the nomination, management, monitoring, and protection of World Heritage sites, as well as in all measures affecting sites under their jurisdiction. States are further obliged to ensure meaningful public participation in line with the rights of heritage communities. In the case of St. Nicholas Cathedral and the Seminary Palace, the heritage community extends far beyond the local context, encompassing the broader Slovenian Christian community, as Archbishop Stanislav Zore has repeatedly emphasised.
We further emphasise that the primary purpose of cooperation with communities is to strengthen public influence over heritage processes, policies, and programmes essential to the protection of World Heritage and other forms of cultural heritage. UNESCO documents and those of other international bodies active in the field of heritage emphasise the role of public participation, grounded in the recognition of the right to heritage—a right that is, after all, enshrined in our Cultural Heritage Protection Act (ZVKD-1), which sets out requirements for the protection of heritage as a constitutional category defined in Articles 5 and 73 of the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia. The right to heritage is further rooted in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR, 1966). As a full member of the United Nations, the Republic of Slovenia is committed to upholding and protecting these rights.
The signatories of this petition emphasise that the impact assessment of Plečnik’s World Heritage site and the issuance of the integrated permit for the construction of the underground car park were not carried out in accordance with the standards of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. Particular concern arises from the apparent disregard for the Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-Making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters (Aarhus Convention, 2000), which Slovenia ratified in 2004. Under this convention, cultural sites and built objects are explicitly recognised as integral components of the environment — a definition that unquestionably applies to the architectural and archaeological site on Vodnik Square.
The threat to Plečnik’s heritage posed by the planned construction of an underground car park demonstrates that, in practice, the Republic of Slovenia deliberately disregards the community’s right to heritage, even in important cases such as the protection of World Heritage sites of outstanding universal value. It must be emphasised that public participation is not limited to the nomination process for inscription on the World Heritage List. The States Parties to the World Heritage Convention are also required to ensure this in all subsequent decisions that may affect the preservation of the site’s outstanding universal values, and to inform UNESCO in a timely manner before such decisions are taken. The importance of involving the public — and especially the heritage rights holders — at all stages of World Heritage impact assessment is explicitly highlighted in the Guidance and Toolkit for Impact Assessments in a World Heritage Context, whose Slovenian translation was provided by the Ministry of Culture and the Slovenian National Commission for UNESCO (UNESCO, ICCROM, ICOMOS, IUCN, 2025. Priročnik in orodja za presojo vplivov v kontekstu svetovne dediščine).

Discrimination of TCN in Malta

I am a third-country national (TCN) living in Malta, where I've dedicated my skills and efforts to contribute positively to society. Despite this, I find myself quietly discriminated against due to recent changes in Maltese law concerning driving licenses for TCNs. This law clearly goes against the spirit of the European Union, which stands for equality and anti-discrimination, yet Malta openly implements a policy that discriminates against non-EU nationals.
Under the new legislation, TCNs are subjected to different requirements and restrictions for obtaining a driving license in Malta. This is not only unfair but also unjust, considering we TCNs contribute to Maltese society and pay taxes like any other resident. This law not only disregards our rights but also further marginalizes a group that already faces challenges due to their non-EU nationality.
The discrimination at play here is blatant. Malta should not be implementing policies that rely on discriminatory practices, especially when they contradict EU law. The European Union was created to foster unity, equality, and integration. Therefore, it's essential that all member states uphold these principles. To create a fair society, every person, regardless of their nationality, should have equal access to rights and opportunities.
This petition aims to reach a wider audience, gather public support, and address this issue at higher levels, including the EU Parliament and the European Court of Justice, as well as the United Nations' Discrimination Unit. By raising our voices collectively, we can push for the revocation of this discriminatory law and strive for a fair, equal, and integrative society within Malta and the EU.
Join me in urging the Maltese government to revoke this unjust law. Let us stand up for equality and the values that the European Union embodies. Please sign this petition to support ending discrimination against TCNs in Malta

Fair Access and Transparency in ISST Accreditation

To: The Board and Certification Coordinators of the International Society of Schema Therapy — ISST
Subject: Accreditation procedures, ethical standards, and transparency in ISST’s activities in Poland and internationally.
We wish to clearly emphasize that this petition is not directed against trainers, supervisors, or directors of accredited training programs in Poland as a group. We appreciate the contribution of many individuals who have developed schema therapy over the years, trained therapists, and supported high standards of clinical practice. This petition concerns, above all, the transparency of procedures, the predictability of decisions, equal access to professional development pathways, and safeguards against potential conflicts of interest. We believe that clear rules serve everyone: candidates, trainers, supervisors, training programs, ISST, and, most importantly, patients.
1. Immediate unblocking of accreditation processes
We respectfully request that accreditation processes for ISST trainers and supervisors in Poland be unblocked. We also request that the fast-track supervisor pathway be reopened. At present, the processing of accreditation applications has been taking more than seven months, without any indication of the expected timeframe for a decision. The processing of certification has been taking five months. According to information published by ISST and previous practice, this process should take two months. ISST is subject to German law on associations and should define the timeframe for processing applications. Prolonged processing without a predictable decision date raises serious concerns from the perspective of transparency, equal treatment of members, and good governance within the association.
2. Ensuring the genuine independence of the Ethics Committee and conflict-resolution mechanisms
We request the establishment of a supervisory body — an Ethics Committee — operating independently of the Board. As an international psychotherapy organization, ISST has a moral and statutory obligation to provide impartial oversight mechanisms that protect professional standards and relationships within the community. We ask ISST to clarify how such a committee would operate independently of the Board in matters concerning Board members, office holders, trainers, supervisors, and potential conflicts of interest.
3. Transparency of the certification and career pathway
We request the establishment of clear, readable, and publicly available procedures regarding career pathways within ISST.
There are cases in which supervisors and trainers are not accepted as assistants in training programs and must assist in other countries in order to obtain a recommendation. Such practices undermine the principle of equal access to professional development and may be interpreted as an attempt to restrict competition. This results in a lack of transparent safeguards against situations in which individuals running competing training programs may have influence over the processing of other trainers’ applications.
We have received reports suggesting that, in practice, the pathway toward supervisor, trainer, or training program director status may depend not only on meeting formal professional criteria, but also on access to informal recommendations, opportunities to assist in specific training programs, or relationships with individuals running existing programs.
We do not presume the intentions of any individual or institution. However, the absence of clear and publicly available rules in this area may lead to a sense of arbitrariness, unequal treatment, and restricted access to professional development.
4. Introducing safeguards against conflicts of interest
We request the introduction of clear safeguards against conflicts of interest, particularly in situations where individuals involved in assessing or recommending applications run their own training courses, supervision services, or programs that may be in competition with those of the applicants, or where such individuals are members of the Board responsible for accreditation decisions.
5. Preventing monopolization and excessive commercialization of therapy
Schema Therapy is a therapeutic approach created to help people suffering from mental disorders. It should be a common good of patients and therapists, rather than “a gold mine to which we will not let anyone else in.” Schema therapy should primarily be about helping people, not about subordinating the training mission to economic interests.

Leave fossil fuels behind, not people!

Every day, households across Europe experience the impact of volatile fuel and energy prices. Dependence on fossil fuels leaves people in a vulnerable position, while oil and gas companies are making huge profits (1).
To kickstart our move away from this dysfunctional system, a new EU scheme will generate billions of euros to support households in the transition to cleaner energy. This policy, known as Emissions Trading System 2 (ETS2), will put a price on emissions from road transport and buildings (2).
However, the launch of ETS2 has been delayed by one year (3), and many governments have failed to submit their plans for using the Social Climate Fund on time, meaning that significant sums intended for citizens have been held back (4).
What needs to be done:
* Break free from fossil fuels. Stop delaying the introduction of the carbon price for road transport and buildings (ETS2), and don’t water it down.
* Guarantee governments invest in real and lasting solutions. Every Euro counts to make homes more comfortable, communities healthier, and clean transportation affordable.
* Put carbon revenues to work for people. Expand the EU’s Social Climate Fund and deliver strong Social Climate Plans, so support reaches those who need it most.

Oppose KONE's Acquisition of TKE – Protect Jobs and Ensure Fair Competition

We, the undersigned, strongly oppose a possible acquisition of TKE by the Finnish elevator company KONE. Such a merger would have far-reaching consequences — particularly for employees, but also for competition and the economic stability of entire regions.
Threat to Jobs and Social Security
Experience from comparable corporate takeovers clearly shows that mergers of this scale often lead to extensive restructuring. Duplicate structures are eliminated, departments merged, and sites closed.
Administrative divisions, research & development, and production are especially affected.
For the employees of TK Elevator, this would create considerable uncertainty:

* Thousands of jobs could be lost — both directly within the company and indirectly among suppliers, service providers, and partner businesses.
* Highly qualified professionals could lose their long-term prospects or be forced to change jobs or relocate.
* Regional labor markets that depend heavily on TKE locations could suffer lasting damage.

Especially in times of economic uncertainty, it is irresponsible to create additional risks for employees.
Impact on Sites and Regions
TKE is a major employer in many cities and regions. An acquisition by KONE could result in key functions — such as management, development, or strategic planning — being relocated abroad. This would not only lead to the loss of highly qualified jobs, but would also threaten the economic foundation of entire regions.
Site closures or downsizing would severely impact local businesses, tradespeople, and small and medium-sized enterprises. The resulting economic damage would be substantial and felt for years to come.
Weakening of Competition
The elevator industry is already highly concentrated. An acquisition of TKE by KONE would further strengthen the market power of a small number of large corporations. Reduced competition means:

* higher prices for customers and public-sector clients,
* less pressure to innovate,
* less choice and weaker negotiating power for clients and contractors.

This contradicts the fundamental principles of a social market economy.
Our Demands
We call on the responsible competition authorities, political decision-makers, and corporate stakeholders to:

* thoroughly and critically examine this acquisition,
* place the long-term impact on jobs at the center of the evaluation,
* demand binding guarantees for the preservation of jobs and locations,
* prevent the relocation of business divisions abroad,
* and take measures to safeguard fair competition and regional economic value creation

Our Goal
We stand for the protection of jobs, fair competitive conditions, and a responsible industrial policy that strengthens people and regions — rather than weakening them.
Support this petition and send a clear message in favor of secure jobs and a fair economy.

Forcing Fast Food Restaurants to Use Real Plates, Glasses, and Cutlery for Dine-In Customers

Fast food restaurants should stop serving dine-in meals in single-use packaging.
If people eat inside the restaurant, their food and drinks should be served on reusable plates, in real cups or glasses, and with washable cutlery. Disposable boxes, cups, lids, wrappers, and cartons should be kept for takeaway, delivery, and drive-through orders, where packaging is actually needed.
When someone eats at a table inside the restaurant, most of this waste is used for only a few minutes before it goes straight into the bin. It is unnecessary, and on this scale, it adds up to a huge amount of avoidable rubbish.
Other restaurants, cafés, canteens, and bakeries manage to wash dishes every day. Large fast food chains can do it too.
This is a simple and realistic step: no single-use packaging for meals eaten inside the restaurant.
We ask for rules that make reusable plates, cups, glasses, and cutlery the standard for all dine-in customers at fast food restaurants.

Support Our Local Midwife’s Return to Work!

We, the undersigned, call on Hunter New England Local Health District and Narrabri District Health Service to urgently address the ongoing treatment of a local Registered Nurse and Midwife who has been unable to return to work following a physical injury, subsequent psychological injury, and prolonged workplace bullying. This midwife is well known and highly regarded by local families, and has been caring for our community since 2011.
After her workers compensation claim was denied, she was forced onto leave without pay, placing enormous financial strain on her and her family during an already difficult economic period. Despite providing four weeks’ notice of her intention to return to work at the end of February (as required by NSW Health policy), repeated efforts to facilitate her return have been ignored.
At a time when regional healthcare services are facing critical staffing shortages, it is deeply concerning that a highly qualified nurse and midwife of 15 years experience, willing to return to care for local families, continues to be excluded from the workplace. No healthcare worker should be forced into financial hardship simply for asking for workplace bullying to stop.
We call on Hunter New England Local Health District to act with fairness, transparency, and compassion by engaging meaningfully to support a safe and timely return to work.
While acknowledging there may be matters not publicly known, the community is seeking transparency, fairness, and compassionate engagement to resolve this situation safely and respectfully for all involved in a timely manner.
We ask that:
1. That Hunter New England Local Health District engage immediately in a genuine return-to-work process with the affected midwife.
2. That Narrabri District Health Service ensure a workplace culture free from bullying, intimidation, discrimination and retaliation.
3. That regional maternity services prioritise retaining experienced healthcare staff to support safe care for local women and families

The administration allegedly failed to adequately investigate corruption allegations or strengthen anti-corruption institutions.
ARTICLE VI
ABUSE OF POWER AND BREACH OF PUBLIC TRUST
President Boakai allegedly engaged in selective justice, political intimidation, and abuse of executive authority inconsistent with the responsibilities of the Presidency.
Such conduct allegedly violates Articles 1, 11(c), 18, and 50 of the Constitution, which guarantee equal protection, impartial governance, and faithful execution of the laws.
The administration allegedly used state institutions against perceived political opponents and failed to govern in the interest of all Liberians.
CONCLUSION
WHEREFORE, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai is alleged to have violated the Constitution of Liberia through disregard for the rule of law, failure to protect citizens, suppression of democratic freedoms, corruption, abuse of power, and conduct undermining the sovereignty and stability of the Republic.
THEREFORE, he is alleged to warrant impeachment, trial, and removal from office for constitutional violations, abuse of power, gross neglect of duty, and breach of public trust under the Constitution of the Republic of Liberia.
BILL WRITTEN AND PRESENTED BY:
SUCCESS A. B. DENNIS

For over 130 years, our local school has been part of this community—teaching our children and bringing families together.
Now, it is at risk of going into recess due to low enrolment numbers.
If this happens, local kids will have to travel further to attend school, making daily life harder for families and limiting children’s ability to be part of their school community. For rural areas like ours, having a local school is essential.
Our school is more than a place to learn. It is a meeting place, a support network, and an important part of life in our valley. Losing it would have a lasting impact on our whole community.
We are asking for your support to help keep our school open and protect its future.
Every signature matters.
IMPORTANT UPDATE:
After reaching 500 signatures, we have escalated our petition to a Legislative Assembly e-petition with the goal of reaching 20,000 signatures and having our cause debated in Parliament. We would greatly appreciate your support by signing and sharing this petition also to help us reach this milestone.

End illegal pushbacks at the Morocco–Spain border

What Is Happening at the Borders
Migrants moving along the Western Mediterranean route between Morocco and Spain are continuing to experience unlawful pushbacks (https://www.infomigrants.net/en/post/70180/80000-migrants-pushed-back-at-eu-borders-in-2025-fewer-than-in-2024), collective expulsions, and border violence. These practices are reported at land border crossings in Ceuta and Melilla (https://borderviolence.eu/app/uploads/special-report-on-ceuta-and-melilla.pdf) as well as during maritime interceptions in the Mediterranean.
In many documented cases, individuals are returned without an individual assessment of their protection needs and without access to asylum procedures. These returns occur in conditions that raise serious concerns regarding compliance with international refugee and human rights law.
Reports (https://www.borderforensics.org/investigations/nadormelilla/) from people affected describe repeated interceptions and returns, including cases where the same individuals are pushed back multiple times. These practices often involve the immediate removal of people from border areas without due process, legal information, or access to interpretation or legal assistance.
There are also consistent accounts of physical harm, confiscation of personal belongings such as phones, shoes, and identity documents, and abandonment in remote or unsafe areas following return operations. These conditions contribute to heightened vulnerability and repeated exposure to dangerous crossing attempts.
These practices engage obligations under international law, including the prohibition of collective expulsions and the principle of non-refoulement, as well as the requirement to ensure access to asylum procedures.

COMMUNITY PETITION To Retain Principal Nichol Klein at Marshall Pomeroy Elementary School

To the Members of the Board of Education:
We, the undersigned parents, guardians, students, staff, and community members of Marshall Pomeroy Elementary School, urgently call upon the Board of Education to reverse the administrative decision to remove Principal Nichol Klein from her position. This decision — made without public explanation or community input — threatens to dismantle the very leadership that has made Marshall Pomeroy a place where every child can thrive.
We are not simply asking you to reconsider. We are demanding that the voices of hundreds of families who trust this school with their children's futures be heard.
Why Principal Nichol Klein Is Irreplaceable
Under Principal Klein's leadership, Marshall Pomeroy has seen remarkable growth and transformation:
• A safe, inclusive, and nurturing school culture where students feel seen, valued, and motivated to learn.
• Open and transparent communication with families — Principal Klein maintains an open door policy that has built deep trust within our school community.
• Dedicated support for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring that no child is left behind or overlooked.
• A motivated and supported staff who consistently go above and beyond because they feel respected and heard.
• A strong sense of community pride and belonging — Marshall Pomeroy has become more than a school; it is a family.

The Impact of This Decision on Our Children
Replacing an effective, beloved principal — or without just cause — causes real and lasting harm to children. Research consistently shows that school leadership stability is one of the most critical factors in student achievement and well-being. Our children have already formed bonds of trust with Principal Klein. To remove her without explanation sends a deeply troubling message to every student: that the adults in charge of their future do not have to answer to them or their families.
We refuse to accept that outcome for our children.

PG&E Mandates Transformer Room Over Active Retail on Sacramento Street Development

The project on 3637-3657 Sacramento Street was approved by the San Francisco Planning and the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection based on the understanding that a subsurface transformer would be installed. This condition was fundamental to the approved design, which was also supported through the public review process and endorsed by both the City and the surrounding neighborhood at the time of approval.

Since then, PG&E has denied the project sponsor's subsurface transformer request. The only alternative is to place the transformer at street level as part of the building, with a requirement for direct exterior access. This would result in approximately 14’ of continuous street frontage being dedicated to utility infrastructure.

This requirement has a significant and detrimental impact on the project and the surrounding neighborhood. The total street frontage is 110’, of which approximately 60% is already allocated to active retail uses. Introducing a street-level transformer would consume an additional ~20% of the frontage, replacing active, engaging uses with a blank, inactive façade.
We ask for your support in signing this petition to urge PG&E to reconsider and approve the subsurface transformer.

Jefferson Elementary needs your help!
The school district has decided to eliminate Jefferson's PE teacher position and have other staff try to cover this full-time role. This change would create widespread negative impacts—affecting clubs, programs, classrooms, teachers, students, and the overall health of our school community.
Enrollment has declined as families in north Richland opt for private schools, ALE programs like Homelink, or homeschooling. At the same time, boundary lines haven’t been adjusted to address this shift, and no new programs have been introduced to help attract and retain students.

Immediately Applicable Solution Concept for Marine Mammal Protection in Germany

This concept does not merely call for a solution – it is the solution. Fully developed and ready for immediate deployment. It closes the current gap in establishing a national rescue and prevention system for our marine mammals.
The case of the stranded humpback whale Hope/Timmy in the Baltic Sea has revealed a critical gap: Germany does not have a state‑coordinated rescue system for large marine mammals, even though responsibilities are clearly defined in conservation law and the associated risks have been known for years.
An injured, exhausted animal for weeks —alone, disoriented, and entirely dependent on human responsibility—was left without clear procedures, defined responsibilities, or binding emergency measures.

The suffering of the whale has left many people stunned. Germany operates highly professional emergency coordination centers for human crises that can mobilize within minutes, yet even the most basic stabilizing measures for a marine mammal require lengthy administrative procedures. This contradiction has caused widespread frustration, especially since the Animal Welfare Act requires authorities to act promptly to prevent suffering.

For decades, it has been well known that large marine mammals frequently end up in distress due to human‑caused factors. Many European coastal nations have therefore established state‑organized rescue structures for marine mammals — Germany, however, has not.

The Netherlands, with only 451 km of coastline, operates a fully functional national coordination center. Germany, by contrast, has roughly 2,400 km of coastline and still no central operational structure. In the case of Hope/Timmy, the Netherlands could have provided assistance within a matter of hours — if Germany had requested it.
In countries where marine mammal rescues are consistently successful, a state‑run coordination center is always in place. In Germany, NGOs can observe but cannot act, as they lack the necessary authorization from the state authority.

This structural gap must be closed without delay.

IMMEDIATELY IMPLEMENTABLE MEASURES
1. Establishment of a Central Reporting Hotline for sightings of large marine mammals
A federal 24/7 coordination center should take full responsibility for receiving and managing all sighting reports from the coast guard, fisheries, and the general public. This enables immediate action and ensures that diagnostic and response teams can be deployed early to prevent strandings whenever possible.
2. Establishment of a Binding National Emergency Chain for marine mammal incidents
Clear responsibilities must be defined for authorities, fire brigades, veterinarians, and specialized response teams.

3. Standardization of Operational Protocols
Uniform procedures must apply nationwide — from the first sighting to the prevention of avoidable strandings — ensuring that coast guard units, authorities, and responsers follow the same operational principles.

4. Immediate Deployment of a Mobile Response Unit
A small, trained team must be able to reach the site within defined response times, assess the animal’s condition, and initiate appropriate measures.
Response Category A – Acute Emergency
·     Response time: ≤ 20 minutes
* Applicable in cases of immediate danger such as strandings, entrapment in mud, respiratory distress, severe disorientation, or visible injuries.

Response Category B – High Risk, but not an acute emergency
* Response time: ≤ 60 minutes
* Applicable when animals are in shallow waters, harbors, or other risk zones, or when unusual behavior indicates emerging distress.

Response Category C – Routine deployment / sighting without suspicion
* Response time: ≤ 6 hours
* Applicable for sightings of apparently healthy animals in safe coastal areas.

We, the undersigned parents of Hlanganani Secondary School, respectfully appeal for the immediate lifting of the suspension placed on our principal. The leadership and guidance provided by the principal have played a vital role in maintaining discipline, academic progress, and stability within the school.
The absence of the principal has created uncertainty and disruption among learners, staff, and parents. We believe that the situation warrants reconsideration, and we kindly request that the relevant authorities review the matter with fairness and urgency.
We respectfully request that the principal be reinstated by 4 May 2026, in the best interest of the learners and the continued smooth functioning of the school.
Stop Endangering Student Athletes

Petition to the Tooele County School Board to Stop Endangering Student Athletes
Subject: Urgent Request for Safety Mitigation: Stansbury High School Tennis/Baseball Interface
I. Statement of Purpose
We, the undersigned coaches, parents, student-athletes, and concerned community members, formally petition the Tooele County School Board to rectify a persistent and dangerous safety hazard at Stansbury High School. The current proximity and orientation of the baseball field to the tennis courts have created a high-risk environment wherein foul balls frequently enter the tennis playing area at high velocities.
II. The Current Hazard
The tennis courts are situated at a right angle to the first-base line of the baseball field. This layout results in:
* Frequent Incursions: Multiple foul balls land within the tennis courts every week.
* Recent Escalation: On Friday, April 10, 2026, during a single baseball practice, over 20 baseballs landed within the tennis courts.
* Vulnerability: Unlike baseball players, tennis players do not wear helmets. They are focused on their own sport and cannot reasonably be expected to monitor the baseball field for incoming projectiles while competing.

III. Medical and Liability Risk
While reported injuries have thus far been limited to bruises and welts, the potential for a catastrophic event is undeniable. A baseball strike to the head can result in:
* Grade 3 Concussions
* Skull Fractures
* Intracranial Hemorrhage (Brain Bleed)

The district is now on formal notice of this specific hazard. Failure to act on a known, recurring danger significantly increases the district's liability in the event of a traumatic injury.
IV. Alignment with District Values
The Tooele County School District has repeatedly stated its commitment to providing “high-quality and well-maintained facilities." The district has even recently prioritized the irrigation of fields during drought conditions to prevent injuries from hard ground. We argue that the risk of a high-velocity baseball impact is a far more critical safety threat than dry turf and deserves commensurate attention and action. Relying on luck to avoid a traumatic brain injury is not a safety strategy.
V. Proposed Solutions
We expect a permanent structural or logistical solution that does not involve "partial use" of facilities. Restricting baseball players to 2/3 of their field or tennis players to 2/3 of their courts is unacceptable and hinders athletic development. We request the board investigate:
1. Installation of high-rise safety netting along the first-base line.
2. Raising the existing perimeter fencing to a height sufficient to intercept foul balls.
3. Relocation of either the courts or the field as a long-term infrastructure project.

VI. Deadline for Action
This issue has been raised with SHS coaches, the Athletic Director, and school administration for several years with no resolution. We expect a mitigation plan to be approved and installed prior to the start of the Girls' Tennis season in August 2026.
Every student-athlete deserves to focus on their game without fearing for their physical safety.

In 2014, California's state legislature adopted SB 2053, which added a definition of abusive conduct in the workplace to Government Code Section 12950.1. This amended code required that abusive conduct ("bullying") be included in the sexual harassment training required under the law. Abusive conduct is defined by the California Government Code, Section 12950.1, as
…workplace conduct, with malice, that a reasonable person would find hostile, offensive, and unrelated to an employer's legitimate business interests.
This petitioner and the undersigned petitioners request that the legislator(s) to whom this petition is addressed sponsor a bill to remove the words "with malice" from California Government Code section 12950.1.

Protect Our Kids. Implement Vape Detectors in NYC Schools

As concerned parents, educators, and community members, we call for the installation of vape detectors in the bathrooms of New York City public schools. Since the legalization of marijuana, we have witnessed a significant increase in vape use among students, and it has created an environment that jeopardizes their health and educational experience. Current anti-vaping policies are proving ineffective due to the challenges of detection
By implementing vape detectors, we can create a safer school environment, deter vaping, and promote healthier choices among our youth. This initiative not only supports the well-being of our students but also aligns with our collective commitment to foster a positive educational atmosphere.
We urge the following officials to take swift action:
- Members of the Local School Board
- The Chancellor and Superintendents of Schools
- City Council Representatives
- State Legislators
- The Mayor's Office
- The New York City Department of Education. NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
Together, let’s ensure that our schools remain safe, supportive spaces for all students.Please Sign this petition to advocate for the health and future of our children!

Safe Pedestrian Access to Lambeth Reserve Across Henry Lawson Drive

Residents and visitors currently face unsafe conditions when attempting to access Lambeth Reserve due to the absence of appropriate pedestrian crossing infrastructure on Henry Lawson Drive.
Henry Lawson Drive is a high-traffic, high-speed roadway, making it extremely difficult and dangerous for pedestrians to cross safely.
There are no clearly marked crossings, pedestrian signals, or adequate traffic calming measures in the vicinity of the reserve. As a result, individuals are often forced to cross at unprotected points, increasing the risk of accidents.

I am writing to share serious concerns regarding the 1:1 Chromebook initiative for first-grade students. While I appreciate the district's commitment to modernization, providing personal devices to six- and seven-year-olds presents significant risks to their cognitive development and academic foundations.
At this critical developmental stage, children are in a "concrete operational" phase where learning is most effective through tactile, three-dimensional experiences. Extensive screen time at school disrupts the development of fine motor skills—such as handwriting and manual manipulation—which are neurologically linked to literacy and memory retention. Replacing physical books and paper with digital interfaces can impede "deep reading" habits, often leading to skimming behaviors rather than the focused comprehension required for early literacy.
Furthermore, the 1:1 model creates unnecessary complications in the classroom environment:
* Cognitive Overload: Rapidly changing visuals and interactive notifications can overstimulate young brains, shortening attention spans and making it harder for students to focus on traditional, non-digital instruction.
* Social Impediments: Early childhood education relies heavily on social cues and collaborative play. Individual screens create "digital silos" that reduce vital face-to-face peer interaction.
* Resource Reliability: Technical glitches, battery issues, and connectivity problems frequently stall lesson momentum, shifting the teacher’s role from educator to IT troubleshooter.

Studies from organizations like the American Academy of Pediatrics and various educational psychologists suggest that "high-tech" does not always equate to "high-growth" for early learners. I urge the district to reconsider the 1:1 mandate for the first grade and instead prioritize a balanced approach that emphasizes sensory-rich, peer-to-peer learning.
Thank you for your time and for your dedication to our children’s best interests.

Stop AI From "re-using" our content and the "Tako" AI chat

If you don't know, there was a new feature added in Tiktok where AI can reuse your content (https://www.pedestrian.tv/online/tiktok-ai-remix-setting-creators-backlash/), in order to cancel/remove the feature you have to manually switch it off... But, it will just switch it back on again on every new video, and It will also "re-use" your PRIVATE videos and worse of all your DRAFTS.
This is really outrageous, Tiktok had lost its understanding of security and privacy on this app when it comes to Generative AI. As an artist myself, my biggest fear is AI re-using my Art. I've spent Hours on creating something from my mind and soul only to be replaced by a soulless robot. And to you who maybe make private Tiktok with your face or other private thing, will not like it if AI re-use your privacy as profit.
Let's come together as a community and and put an end to this feature, We want content made by humans, for humans.

Barrierefreie Gehwege jetzt: Für sichere Wege in Niederschönhausen

Gaza now has the world's highest number of children with amputations (https://www.unicefusa.org/stories/unicef-delivers-wheelchairs-gazas-children). Many surgeries need to be done without anaesthesia (https://news.un.org/en/story/2025/08/1165713). Most medical infrastructure is destroyed. Hundreds of people have died while waiting for Medical Evacuations (MedEvacs) –approximately 2 persons per day since July 2024 (931 casualties in 450 days, see report, page 3 (https://www.emro.who.int/images/stories/palestine/sitrep66.pdf)).
We are advocating for injured children to obtain admission to Munich hospitals, so they can receive the necessary medical and psychological care they need, as well as being assisted to return safely to Gaza.
We are convinced of this being our duty in an open, moral and value-based society. More than 18000 people of which 3800 are minors are waiting for MedEvacs right now (https://www.ochaopt.org/content/humanitarian-situation-report-19-march-2026) – waiting, because there are no countries willing to accept, although the infrastructure for the MedEvacs is being granted by the (https://www.emro.who.int/images/stories/palestine/Medevac_what_you_need_to_know_english.pdf)

Make Big Polluters Pay Their Fair Share: Tweed Shire

We support big coal, oil and gas corporations paying their fair share for the costs of climate change. Local councils and residents shouldn’t be left holding the bill while corporations pocket the profits.
We call on Tweed Shire to pass a Polluter Pays motion to support a Climate Compensation Fund, which would help protect local services, strengthen and repair infrastructure, and fund disaster response and preparedness – ensuring our community can stay safe and thrive.
Council should formally call on the Australian Federal Government to:

* Establish a Climate Compensation Fund, paid for by a levy on major coal, oil and gas export corporations – not ratepayers and taxpayers;
* Earmark funds for local councils to cover the rising costs of climate adaptation, disaster recovery and resilience;
* Provide sustained, legislated funding so councils can plan for the future with certainty; and
* Prioritise protecting ratepayers and taxpayers from bearing the escalating costs of climate damage.

* Sicherheit für Frauen und Senioren: 👠👵🏼♀️Die totale Dunkelheit schafft "Angsträume". Es ist unzumutbar, dass Frauen nachts mit Angst aus dem Auto steigen oder den Heimweg antreten müssen.
* Gefahr für Berufstätige:
* 🚗🅿️♂️Viele Bürger arbeiten in Schichten. Auf komplett unbeleuchteten Parkplätzen ist es fast unmöglich, das eigene Auto sicher zu finden oder unbeschadet den Gehweg zu nutzen (Sturzgefahr!).
* Einschränkung des Alltags:
* 🐕🏠🐾Ob man den Hund spät abends ausführen muss oder Gäste empfängt – der mitleidige Blick von Besuchern aus dem Ausland zeigt, wie rückständig diese Situation wirkt. Gäste müssen förmlich "nach Hause rennen", um nicht im märkischen Dunkel zu landen.
* Schutz der Jugend:
* 💃🏼🪩🥂Auch junge Menschen, die am Wochenende spät heimkehren, verdienen einen beleuchteten und damit sicheren Heimweg.

💡Wir fordern nicht die Verschwendung von Energie, sondern intelligente Alternativen wie LED-Dimmung oder Bewegungssensoren. Sicherheit darf nicht erst nach Sonnenaufgang beginnen!🔦

Save Krumovitsa Special Protection Area! No wind turbines in the vultures’ home!

Will SPA “Krumovitsa”, part of the European Natura 2000 network, be transformed into an industrial zone with 26 wind turbines as tall as a 70-storey skyscraper? We have very little time to prevent this and act.
Let us preserve the skies of eagles and vultures, protect the unique natural landscape, and safeguard biodiversity, pastoral livestock farming, and sustainable tourism opportunities in the region.
Sign the petition now.
Why is this area so valuable?
The Eastern Rhodopes and the Krumovitsa River valley near Krumovgrad are among the most biodiversity-rich and well-preserved natural areas in Bulgaria and Europe.
SPA Krumovitsa hosts an exceptional diversity of animal and plant species — including birds, bats, reptiles, mammals, and rare plants — many of which are protected and globally threatened.
As part of the Natura 2000 network, SPA Krumovitsa is one of the key sites in Bulgaria for the conservation of the threatened vulture species.
In the area you can see:
* The globally Endangered Egyptian vulture, whose population is slowly stabilising after decades of international conservation efforts along its flyway;
* The Cinereous vulture, which until recently was extinct in Bulgaria and is now returning as a result of population reinforcement and target conservation actions.
* The Griffon vulture, a symbol of the Eastern Rhodopes, has survived only in this region after disappearing from the rest of the country during the last century.

This is not just a protected area — it is a place where nature and people coexist in balance.
Thanks to its rich biodiversity and cultural-historical significance, the region attracts tourists, nature enthusiasts, photographers, and researchers from Bulgaria and abroad. Truly intact natural areas of this kind are becoming increasingly rare.
Krumovitsa is one of them — yet today it faces a real and immediate threat.
What is happening?
A wind energy project for the construction of 26 wind turbines and associated power infrastructure is planned in the region, directly within the SPA “Krumovitsa”.
Each turbine is expected to reach a height of approximately 250 metres — exceeding that of a 70-storey building. This represents large-scale industrial development in one of the most valuable natural areas in Bulgaria and Europe.
The project poses a serious risk not only to biodiversity but also to tourism, the local economy, and the region's overall character. It would permanently alter the iconic natural landscape — one of the primary reasons people visit the area.
What is the concern?
Wind turbines in areas of high conservation value cause serious impact::
* Causes collisions and mortality among birds and bats;
* Create barrier effects that disrupt bird migration routes;
* Displace wildlife from key habitats and nesting areas;
* Generate noise disturbance;
* Alter the natural landscape.

Vultures fly at the height of turbine blades and rely on the ridges where the turbines will be built as a critical area for feeding, movement, and gaining altitude.
There are places that cannot be replaced once lost!
What would happen if the project is implemented?
* More than 20% of SPA Krumovitsa would be affected.
* Direct mortality of globally threatened species will be provoked.

The following species would suffer the most:
* Nearly 60% of Bulgaria’s Egyptian vulture population (only around 35 breeding pairs remain in the country);
* The Griffon vulture, whose successful recovery in the last decades could be reversed;
* The first Cinereous vultures breeding again in the Eastern Rhodopes after decades, as part of an ongoing reintroduction programme;
* Decades of conservation efforts dedicated to restoring vulture populations and ecosystems in the Eastern Rhodopes;
* The natural integrity of yet another Special Protection Area as part of Nature 2000 network in Bulgaria.

The impacts would extend beyond wildlife:
* Local livelihoods, such as pastoral livestock farming , will be affected;
* The region’s attractiveness for tourism would significantly decline;
* Opportunities for sustainable development would be reduced;
* Noise disturbance would affect nearby settlements.

At the same time, the generated electricity would be fed into the national grid, without providing direct economic benefits or reduced energy costs for local communities.
We support the development of renewable energy.
However:
* Not every location is suitable for such projects;
* Scientific evidence clearly indicates that certain areas must be preserved, as their loss would cause irreversible damage to nature and society.

Special Protection Area “Krumovitsa” is one such place.

An open letter to the United Nations condemning war against Iran

Dear Ms. Dabo,
Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights,
We write to express our grave concern regarding the military actions carried out on 28th February 2026 by the United States of America and Israel against Iran. These actions constitute violations of international law, including the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.
On the first day of this violation of international law, an elementary school in Minab was bombed twice. More recent strikes by the USA and Israel have destroyed three universities.
According to available reports, these attacks have so far resulted in significant human loss and widespread suffering in Iran. Approximately 2,000 have been killed, including more than 200 children (https://www.unicef.org/press-releases/child-casualties-rise-amidst-deepening-middle-east-conflict), and over 20,000 individuals have been injured. It is further estimated that around three million people have been displaced due to the extensive destruction of residential areas caused by the Israel and USA bombardments.
This illegal act of Aggression has caused severe damage to critical civilian infrastructure. At least 300 medical facilities and 42 ambulances have been bombed, with seven hospitals evacuated since 28 February. These include key institutions such as the Pasteur Center for Public Health and Medical research, as well as 13 pharmaceutical facilities.
The USA and Israel have conducted extensive airstrikes on civilian energy and industrial infrastructures, including a water facility in Qeshm, three oil refineries, the south Pars gas field, major steel production sites such as Mobarakeh Steel in Isfahan and Khuzestan Steel in Ahvaz and petrochemical complexes in Khuzestan. Further strikes hit a bridge in Azimieh and damaged the Haghani Port in the southern city of Bandar Abbas.
We, the undersigned, call upon The United Nations to condemn these acts of aggression and to take urgent action to address what constitutes violations of international law. We urge the United Nations to demand an immediate cessation of American and Israeli attacks.
Civilians and civilian infrastructures – including energy facilities – are protected under international humanitarian law and must be respected and safeguarded at all times.
We further urge the United Nations to take all necessary measures to ensure that the governments of the United States and Israel immediately cease their military actions against Iran and uphold their obligations under international law.
Yours sincerely
