In Denmark, the current law stipulates that individuals must be able to speak and read Danish in order to donate blood or platelets. This restriction not only limits the number of potential donors but also unfairly excludes a significant portion of the population, including immigrants, expatriates, and individuals who may be unable to master the language for various reasons.
We believe that the ability to save lives should not be hindered by language barriers. It is time for Denmark to embrace inclusivity and acknowledge the diverse backgrounds of its residents. By signing this petition, you join us in advocating for a simple yet powerful change that opens the doors for compassionate individuals ready to contribute to our healthcare system.
Let’s come together to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to donate blood and platelets, regardless of their language skills. Sign today, and support a more inclusive Denmark!
Begrundelse
Blood donation is a vital act of community service that saves lives. Every day, hospitals and clinics rely on the generosity of donors to ensure that patients receive the critical care they need. By maintaining a language requirement for donors, we are neglecting the potential contributions of countless individuals who wish to help but are unable to, solely due to this requirement.

Blood shouldn’t be classified under language barriers, I am scared that if they can’t take my blood then will they give me blood in case of accident.
