Lik lønn for likt arbeid, ansiennitet skal telle positivt, ikke negativt på lønn!
Salary raises for one category of employees should benefit all employees in that category, otherwise this is discrimination!
Changes in the salaries for a category should be reflected for all that had signed a work contract under that category. Regardles of the date of signature of the contract.
I do not think it is right to move forward with such a high increase for new employees without a comparable increase in pay rate for senior employees. The salary should reflect the abilities that employees bring to the table and not should not be time bound.
I want to be treat with fairness!
National salary negotiations for PhD employees should apply equally to all without discrimination. In any case, I find concerning and unfair the assumption that seniority can be depreciated instead of rewarded.
This is a shock! The ones who thought this was fair and a good idea should not be in a position to make these decisions! The work done by phds are equally important regardless of what date they were hired.
Det er helt urimelig lønnspolitikk og straffe ansinitet. Jeg forsørger familie og må jobbe ekstra utenom, noe som er negativt for progresjonen. Faller enda lengre bak nå.
Not common Norwegian practice, highly unfair
I am a PhD candidate and this concerns me too!
I am a PhD student at University of Stavanger at the Department of Mathematics and Physics. This is a very serious matter that must be resolved quickly.
Lik lønn for likt arbeid!
Equal pay for equal work and positions is an ideological cornerstone in Norway, at least when seniority is not an issue (as is true for PhD-candidates, and this case in particular). Universities should adhere to this ideal, and raise the salaries set by old contracts according to the new standards.
I am a PhD student at University of Stavnger so it concerns me.
Because, ironically, I was hired April 1st :(
it should be a principle that those who do the same work should also earn the same money!
Everyone should and must be paid equally. Everything else is just nonsense.
I'm a PhD student, hired in 2018, and therefore earn less for the same work than my newbie colleagues.
It is unfair for senior PhD students.
Because I was hired 1st of December 2016 and I think it is unfair that I get less salary than new hD students. If all, I should get more, as I am worked longer.
I am a PhD who joined in July 2019 and worked hard. I feel i deserve an equal salary as new PhDs
I am shocked that we in Norway in 2019 are not paid equally, especially by a public University
Stipendiatene som ble ansatt i 3-årig stilling fra April i 2019 kommer til å tape mange titusen kroner på grunn av dårlig timing. Dette er totalt uakseptabelt og må rettes opp umiddelbart.
I'm a senior PhD myself and is experiencing the same issue at NTNU in Trondheim.
Because it's unfair, and I'm conserned it might lead to a not so great environment at the work place. It's frustrating to know that someone who has been here shorter is earning more, simply because they started after May 2019.
It is more fear
It is totally unfair to have this gap in pay among the senior PhDs and those who have employed after May. Let us stand together on this
As a PhD employeed på UiT I off course wish to support this petition since all PhDs employed in Norway should receive the same treatment and payment. If the salary changes for new employees, it should be applied retroactively for "senior" PhDs.
Aside from the fact that I am directly affected, it is basically unfair to have such a high increase with NO adjustment to the salary of the exsisting PhDs. Either you're a newly recruited PhD or have been a PhD for some time, you have the same responsibility and job. If the funders are able (and agreed) to pay more for the newly recruited PhD then why not adjusting the salary of the existing PhDs? (:
Moreover from what I've observed, most PhDs produce a number of publication which technically raises the credibility and rating of their institutions. Therefore PhD students play an important role as well in their own institutions.
This is outrageous and completely untenable.
