Dear fellow irrigators,
Thank you for signing the MIL Concerned Shareholders Group online petition. Your support matters, and it gives this campaign the strength it needs at a critical time. We are writing to update you on the campaign, explain why the issue is so important, and ask for your help to build wider support across the irrigation community.
The MIL Concerned Shareholders committee includes Antony Vagg – Bunnaloo; Lachie Knight – Womboota; John Doyle – Berrigan; Hannah Kelly – Tocumwal; and Cameron Robertson – Finley.
MIL’s new fee model is not a minor adjustment. It is a major structural change to a critical asset of the community that could become irreversible once the moratorium on the termination and transfer of DEs finishes on 30 June 2027. It deserves further thought and discussion.

We are asking every supporter to get one or two neighbours to sign the petition.
Please send the petition link to one or two neighbours by text or email, then follow up with a quick call or message a few days later. A personal request from someone they know is far more powerful than a general notice. To make that easier, we have included a suggested message below. You are welcome to forward it directly, adapt it in your own words, or encourage people to contact a committee member if they would like more information.
What we are asking MIL to do:
We are requesting MIL and the Board to work with this committee to:
explain and understand the assumptions made and the risks considered
when developing the new fee structure;
explain and understand how the new fee structure will affect future
generations of irrigators;
discuss alternative options that could meet the needs of the company whilst
still allowing water resource distributions to be made to shareholders;
discuss options such as an opt-in or opt-out approach to the new fee
structure; and
hold genuine consultation with all shareholders before terminating the
moratorium on the termination and transfer of DEs.
We are not requesting an EGM, board spill or any unnecessary interruption to the business. We are not angling for Board positions. We are not associated with any other external groups. We are simply concerned irrigators that have invested in irrigation and would like to continue to do so in the future.
