Petition for a Sex Offender's Register in Cyprus

The safety of our children should be a PRIORITY!! Sex offenders should be sentenced accordingly and not be allowed to interact with children. More needs to be done to keep our children SAFE!

Children have the right to be protected and no-one should be able to take advantage of another human being against their will

Parents have to have the legal right to protect their children from predators.

Sex offences ruin lives,

Because I believe we need to protect children from sex offenders.

I have family there.

I have children and not only this, my niece and nephew are in Paphos, if it weren't for them, there are still other children in Cyprus, left unprotected by a loophole in the government. Such serious offenders should not have the freedom to work within 100m of children!!

All of us have kids. Who knows if the person rape a kid once will not to attempt to do it again? Such person should do heavy work not easy one.

Too much child abuse is swept under the carpet here and if the offender is Cypriot and the wife a foreigner. A screaming kid gets given back to the molester. Things have to change here

Because i have children and i think children have right to be safe and not hurt.

I have previously been involved in Child Protection modules as a lecturer to nurses, doctors and social workers in UK University (York)
Child Protection, especially from paedophiles is especially close to my heart.
We must protect our children from the suffering they experience when being subject to sex abuse. It is important to be worldwide, including Europe wide it is essential to register them so they are inhibited to reoffend.

Children must be safe in this small and beautiful country

it's very dangerous for people and children.

Protection and safety of children is paramount importance

It is fare to know the dangerous people around our children

Anyone who has sexually abused needs to recignise that it is a crime against humanity, they need help and or to be punished to realise how much this affects not only the victim but others around them.

As a mother I feel more can be done to protect our children

It is a strong tool to reduce such offences given the small size of our society and how fast these names will be made known to society. A few months in prison and in secrecy does not suffice to extinct such abnormal behavior.

For everyones safety

We should do everything in our power to protect children

A society is judged by the way it protects the weak, defenceless and young. Predators must cease to be a threat to children in all the tried amd true ways that work in other countries. We don't have to reinvent the wheel, just adopt EU standards in legal protections for children and sentencing standards to keep predators away from their victims.

We have a right to know
