The traverliers didn't do any harm, was lovely seeing them as I came home. To make them go in this terrible heat is disgusting. Those poor horses and people
I live backed into the common. They have been there 3 weeks and I didn't even know they were there. So they are doing no harm to anyone.
The travellers should be welcome in Dersingham
People should be allowed to live their own lives
Gypsys are discriminated all the time ! It's disgraceful !! These people are so nice ! They take care of their animals and do NOT leave mess behind, how they get treated by You and other council committees is wrong, give them respect and let them live their life, they have rights !!!
Freedom to live how we want is a basic right in England.
As the saying goes "Do not judge a book by it's cover" These people have chosen a lifestyle a little different to most, if the Dersingham officials had taken the trouble to communicate in a friendly way they would realise that this family are very nice decent people. I called in to see them on Friday 8th August the site has no litter whatsoever and in many ways tidier than most streets in many of our towns. They clearly respect our village and I would welcome them into my house any day, I delivered garden produce for their family and horses and told them to come along to my house to get water for their horses on probably the hottest day of the year.
While I was at the camp other residents of the village were also visiting and like me offering the hand of friendship, I'm ashamed of the attitude taken by the village representatives.
I understand the need to preserve the wellbeing of the common land and the village as a whole but I think there is a need for friendly dialogue first, if that fails then escalate the response accordingly.
They are friendly improve character of area and do no harm
I think its wonderful seeing them when driving home and they are not causing harm to anyone.
Because these types of travellers seem to be causing no harm & seem to be interacting with the locals with no bother. If I had heard of trouble then my feelings would be different.
Lovely to see traditional travellers to a common area.
I think they have a right to stay nice polite people its common land for common people
These travellers are true travellers that cause no problems or issues it’s lovely to see them. They soon move on so I don’t see a problem
A lovely way of life for lovely people.
I believe all people should be treated with respect. This matter could have been resolved in much more sensitive way, by simple asking them how long they were staying for as they are now moving on anyway because the horses need fresh grass.
They should be allowed to share common land. The trustees only hold this land IN TRUST.
I wish for our children to learn about freedom and how other people live. They have brought so many smiles to our village in these times of worry. Please let them come back.
This petition is important because the society today is trying to banish Romany ways and a tradition that’s been around before time
These people are not here to make any trouble, they have been so kind and respectful of our village in keeping it tidy and clean, they are lovely people to talk to and just want a nice clean place to rest and feed their dogs and horses.
They have done no harm, frieny and polite look aftet their animals just e abuse they choose to live a different way of life thet shouldn't be penalised.
These people have done nothing but be clean , friendly, thoughtful, leave them alone Alex Cooney you were rude I won’t be voting for you !!!!
They are lovely people doing no harm
To support the travellers visiting our village. They are causing no harm or damage and such lovely people
Lovely to see the old tradition carrying on,These people are doing no harm. This is common land. Be Kind were has happened to that. Dersingham United Charities should be ashamed of themselves. Which includes member of the parish council.
They were clean and tidy, very friendly and polite and beautiful to see.
These are lovely, kind people. Not only are they doing no harm, quite the reverse, looking after their and our environment and bring joy and diversity to the village. To the board of the charitable trust I would say: "Be charitable. Be kind. Listen to the views of the villagers."
They are not hurting anyone. They keep it clean and tidy and are very friendly. They have chosen dersingham to stay with there family. Don't see the harm it them staying.
#BeKind
Here we are in the middle of a global pandemic, where it is more important than ever that people should look out for one another, and the someone representing the charity sees fit to turn up and be verbally aggressive and threatening. He is obviously such a bully boy that most likely after having being spoken to by the police and told to wind his neck in, he then uses his position as a trustee to get back at the travellers by serving them with a notice to quit ... if you are reading this, shame on you.
The travellers are doing no harm, they keep the place tidy and are very friendly and as a resident of Dersingham I do not agree with the letter they received
I want to see justice done to these yobs
