Wallaroo Mines Primary School has always been known for its close-knit, caring, and community-driven environment. Families have chosen this school because of its supportive atmosphere and small-school values where every child feels safe, seen, and valued.

Unfortunately, under the current leadership of Principal, this culture has changed dramatically. Over the past year, many parents, students, and staff have raised serious concerns about her conduct and the overall decline in the school’s environment.

Concerns include:

• Disrespectful and aggressive communication towards students, parents, and staff.
• a stranger was allowed unauthorized access with our vulnerable primary aged children on a school camp.
• Instances of inappropriate physical contact with students, including kissing her fingers and placing them on female students’ faces.
• Blocking children’s pathways and making them walk around obstacles as punishment.
• Publicly humiliating students when they make mistakes.
• A lack of support and inclusion for children with additional needs.
• Parents and staff feeling intimidated and unable to raise concerns safely.

These behaviors have created an atmosphere of fear and discomfort among students with many children expressing that they are scared of the principal. Over 20 families have already considered moving their children to other schools due to these issues, showing the scale of community concern.

This petition is not about one parent or one incident it represents a collective voice from the Wallaroo Mines school community. Parents are united in asking the Department for Education to take immediate action by:

• Conducting a full and independent investigation into the leadership and culture at Wallaroo Mines Primary School.
• Taking appropriate steps to ensure student safety, staff wellbeing, and the restoration of a positive school culture.
• To encourage positive and transparent leadership within WMPS by addressing ongoing concerns around staff and student welfare, and by supporting a transition towards leadership that better represents our community’s values.
• Every child deserves to feel safe and respected at school, and every family deserves confidence in the people leading it.
