Petition addressed to: Canterbury-Bankstown Council

Residents and visitors currently face unsafe conditions when attempting to access Labeth Reserve due to the absence of appropriate pedestrian crossing infrastructure on Henry Lawson Drive.
Henry Lawson Drive is a high-traffic, high-speed roadway, making it extremely difficult and dangerous for pedestrians to cross safely.
There are no clearly marked crossings, pedestrian signals, or adequate traffic calming measures in the vicinity of the reserve. As a result, individuals are often forced to cross at unprotected points, increasing the risk of accidents.

Reason

This issue affects multiple members of the community, including children, elderly residents, and people with disabilities, who may not be able to cross quickly or safely in fast-moving traffic.
The lack of safe crossing options discourages use of the park and puts those who do attempt to access it at serious risk.

This situation represents a clear public safety concern and requires urgent attention from local authorities to prevent potential injury or loss of life.

Thank you so much for your support, Suzanne Wilson, Picnic Point
