Petition addressed to: Transport for NSW
The Paterson Progress Association was approached in 2021 to request Transport for NSW to install a ramp to facilitate access to the station by the elderly, disabled and those with manoeuvrability issues such as prams, walkers & luggage .
Reason
Paterson Progress Association has repeatedly sought action from Transport for NSW. Their response has simply been to suggest that travellers should use Martins Creek or Mindaribba Stations - suburbs with far smaller populations and yet these stations have been provided with ramp access. This response ignores the fact Paterson is a much larger catchment area and that travel to these locations is counter-productive in terms of access and time.
The Department and the Transport Minister have continuously ignored its own vision statement for the Safe Accessible Transport Program, which is supposed to "make public transport safe, inclusive and easy to use for all passengers".
Paterson Station does not adequately accommodate easy access and a simple solution is a ramp, without the need for a station upgrade. Ramp access would allow for increased current and future capacity for a broad range of travellers.
We, the undersigned urge Transport for NSW to provide the immediate solution of a ramp.
Please lend your voice to support this cause. Sign this petition today to help ensure Paterson Station is accessible to all!

The platform needs to be accessible for all travellers. People in wheelchairs and parents with prams need to be able to have access with reduced risk of injury.
