I've had people ask 'Why is it up to council to provide this?' ... but you know what? We don't ask “why is it on Council?” when we're talking about football fields, netball courts, tennis courts, swimming pools or other sporting infrastructure. Maybe the better question is: 'Why isn't pickleball being considered as part of Council's future sporting infrastructure planning?'

Pickleball isn't some brand-new fad — it has been played since 1965. So its bern around for mote than 60 years. What's changed is how rapidly participation has grown, and the demand for suitable facilities here in Australia. We're asking Council to consider an established sport that is growing within the community, in the same way it considers the infrastructure needs of other sports.
