Petition addressed to: Redland City Council

Raby Bay dog park has recently been upgraded. Fencing has been installed as part of an erosion remediation project. But the three access points (two ramps and the unfenced western end) allow dogs to wander off the beach and onto the road. It also takes longer for owners to get to the grassed areas to recover straying dogs as they have to use the access points.

We request the installation of dog-park gates (sally ports) and the extension of fencing at the
western end of the beach to make the beach safer for our dogs.

Reason

  • Prevents dogs from leaving the beach unsupervised
  • Prevents the risk of injury from dogs running onto the road
  • Provides peace of mind for owners, particularly when the beach is crowded

Gates are common practice at dog parks. Let's please have them for Raby Bay dog beach!

Thank you so much for your support, Bernard Williams, Ormiston
