Community Diverse Sporting and Leisure Precinct Proposal – Pacific Paradise / Twin Waters / Marcoola/ Bli Bli
Introduction
There has been much recent controversy and public complaint about the lack of an aquatic centre, pickleball courts, women’s sports facilities such as netball and basketball, and general community facilities for sports and recreation. In response, a group of local residents has carried out detailed mapping and research to identify a viable solution.
Site Identification
We have identified a strategically located parcel of land: Lot 101 on SP154822. A full title search confirms that this land is currently held in the name of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council. The land is currently zoned for Community Use and can be readily changed to Sport and Recreation under the Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme.
Location and Benefits
This land is situated only a few hundred metres from the Pacific Paradise Town Centre and officially forms part of the Town Centre precinct. Its location makes it ideal for the development of a vibrant, accessible community sporting hub that would serve Pacific Paradise, Mudjimba, Twin Waters and the wider North Shore community.
Community Involvement
We are calling on vocal members of the community who express concerns on forums and social media to become part of this positive movement. Now is the time to act to improve the livability of Pacific Paradise, Mudjimba, Twin Waters and surrounding areas.
Please lobby your local councillor, Taylor Bunnag, and encourage Sunshine Coast Council to support this initiative. A community committee will be formed to drive this project forward, and we are seeking committee members and local leaders to help bring this vision to fruition.
Funding Opportunities
Federal, State and Council funding streams are available to support projects of this nature. The land is ready. Only the willpower of the people and the community will make this happen.

Benefiting clients we see at my workplace in Mudjimba (physio) for their injuries having the option of swimming/ exercise in the pool is low impact for them. Many people in the area do not drive so this is great.
