Petition addressed to: Elected Councillors and the executive staff of the Cumberland Council
The residents of Lidcombe request that the council replace the existing, outdated playground equipment with a modern outdoor gym to support the health, fitness, and well-being of our local community.
Reason
The current playground in our area is outdated, underutilized, and no longer meets the needs of our growing, active community. Providing an outdoor gym is important because:
- Promotes Public Health: Access to free, outdoor fitness equipment encourages residents of all ages to engage in regular physical activity, which is essential for long-term health and well-being.
- Maximizes Community Space: Replacing neglected equipment with a functional, modern facility ensures that our public spaces are being used effectively to foster a healthier lifestyle for Lidcombe residents.
- Inclusive Social Connection: An outdoor gym serves as a gathering point for neighbors, creating opportunities for social interaction and strengthening our community bonds while improving our physical fitness.
