It is time to be looking forward to preserving our forested areas instead of always looking at them for profit. There is too much money at play in this venture and certain concerns are easily paid away. I don't even have faith left in the consultation process with First Nations. As a native person not from this territory, I know for a fact that even after consultation, input is ignored often times or the decision and processes have already been put into place even before the consultation. I have strong concerns for what this venture is going to bring to an area that is so close to so-called Crown land (unceded territories). The noise alone disrupts wildlife habitats in the area and I still have strong concerns regarding contamination to water sources due to seeping and containment of this seepage.
