We don't need another mine in that area to disturb the current nature and wildlife. We need to keep and preserve what beautiful surroundings we have around us and not demolish it to build a mine.
This will ruin the natural beauty of the area.
Because I grew up in the Hope area and I hate to see it spoiled
It affects my friends and family
The proposed project will negatively affect the entire area. The town council needs to hear from those who will have to live with the increased noise, pollution, traffic and negative impact on property values.
We don't need blasting in town. Protection of the natural environment.
People should be able to have peace where they live. The intended amount is also too much
We just invested in building a vacation home in Hope and would like to spend time in Hope using it peacefully. I grew up spending time in Hope every summer, nature and the natural aspects of Hope are stunning to be enjoyed and not exploited.
I live in the affected area
Too many gravel trucks on the road
I wish to preserve the forested backdrop of our beautiful town. As it is, the present gravel pit is a huge blight on the landscape as seen from Highway 1.
I am another concerned long time resident of Hope. I do not support this application and strongly oppose it.
The natural beauty and habitats of BC need to be preserved for future generations.
I dont want it to ruin our community and the land itself
we own a cabin by the lake
Tourism is so important to Hope. It would ruin the beauty not to mention the trucks coming back and forth every 5 minutes with so much dust and mud.
The impact on nature around the area would be severely detrimental to the environment. In a world of climate change focus this should not even be considered.
Because we need to protect our nature, not destroy it for profit
All the above
For ecological and safety reasons
The truck traffic is going to disrupt the peace and quiet enjoyment of the local homeowners. The dust and noise are are going to be disruptive. They are next door to us with the cement prefab, they said that we wouldn't even know that they were there. Joke, they start at any hour from 5:30 am to 7 am. It is noisy all day long and the dust is terrible. I can clean my windows every day. We DO KNOW THAT THEY ARE THERE and complaints to town hall are dismissed. There will not be any more jobs to locals- the jobs are commuting from chilliwack.
No damned way this should go through. This expansion will reduce property values for everyone. Why destroy this town when it has so much potential?
Peace and quiet while fishing. Afraid of runoff into the lake.
Environmental impact
Increased traffic with heavy trucks creating dust and congestion on the roads
I am concerned with noise, heavy truck traffic, air pollution, possible rupture to new oil pipelines, environmental concerns with kawkawa lake and the coquihalla river, property devaluation from ugly look of mountain. I can't beleive there would be any way some company can expand a gravel pit into a mine within a city that is mainlt residential near it
For protecting marine life and clean waterways
Due to traffic increase Dust everywhere
And unsafe driving conditions with very large trucks on the road. Noise will be increased
Having a truck coming and going from 7 to 7 on weekdays on a neighbour road isn’t safe
Living in Kawkawa Lake I am opposed to the expansion of this pit. I do not want the added traffic or noise affecting my property and our surrounding area.
To triple the size of this quarry will have a significant effect on the community of Hope. As with the recently installed Trans mountain pipeline where we were subjected to dust covering our yards and buildings and noise from the constant construction,we also had to contend with with the increased traffic of large trucks going up and down residential streets. These residential streets and infrastructure are not equipped to handle the extra traffic that this expansion will generate.
My best friend lives in this area, it's a peaceful residential area of Hope. I would hate to see that being destroyed
