I care about our beautiful town, it’s one of the biggest things that attracts people to it. This would destroy the environment and our beautiful views and tourism.
This area is adjacent to one of the top tourist destinations in Hope (the old KVR). One of the biggest repairs is currently underway on part of this walkway (Othello Tunnels). We also have Kawkawa Lake which is another tourist destination spring, summer and fall.
The Gravel pit is becoming an eyesore to the community of Hope BC
Nature and wildlife conservation
I own a home in Hope
As a resident of Hope I am strongly opposed to the increased scale of the gravel pit. Such an undertaking should not be permitted. There is no need to have this in our neighborhood and town.
The natural beauty of the area needs to be preserved
We are destroying a beautiful area.
The traffic will be awful in this area...too many tucks going way too fast
A cemetery, where family & friends are buried, is much more important that a gravel pit. Also, Hope is a beautiful area with a lot of history. Don’t destroy it!
Would like the lake to stay the way it is
It will be detrimental to my area where I live. Worried about ground water run off - drinking water and how this beautiful town will look
I have just moved to this beautiful place - I cannot in any way support this proposed expansion- Hope is about community, family, natural wonders and wildlife! This would destroy the beauty around us - please DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN
I live right beside this.
Members of my family love here.
Health, other important need in my community other than destruction of our natural life.
supporting neighbours and friends
Let's preserve the environment..also animal habitat
I grew up in Hope, frequently visit family in the area and may potentially retire back in this community.
Beautiful area we holiday in and concerned on the impact for local relatives
It's going to increase the traffic. And unsure if the environmental impact of 50 years of blasting.
The future of Hope as a retirement community and tourist destination is important to me and my family
Bc Hope is important to my family
I grew up here and still reside here , the people that live in the area are alot of my friends plus people I don't know but noone needs all these trucks and activities going by their house all day ,everyday . Also those roads are not made for heavy trucks .the money to repair and upgrade them would come from the residents not the company.Last but not least, I don't want our beautiful town changed for progress .we have an amazingly beautiful town and it's slowly becoming very ugly
The extra traffic, amount of dust and large scale would pose many dangerous hazards to the road and nearby properties.
The pit was once owned by a local that would never have expanded it, the outside people care nothing for the dangers or the destruction to the natural beauty in their very close proximity.
I am a 25 year resident on Othello rd and can not tolerate any further land disruption (pipeline was enough). Heavy road traffic is already a major problem on Kawkawa Lake Rd and Othello Rd and this will make it significantly worse and dangerous. I expect property values will experience a decline with the destruction of the natural environment. There will be a loss of wildlife, potential water contamination, ongoing dust, debris and noise. I see no benefit to the residents of Hope. This proposal does not align with the values of residents in Hope nor will it benefit them in any way. I am Vehemently against this.
It’s important to save our land and to be safe
Driving unsafe coming onto Kawkawa Lake Road.Somebody will end up in an accident.
Health, beauty, wildlife preservation
This expansion is unnecessary and not good for the environment and the people living near it.
Tk prevent the pollution and preserve the nature and its habitants
