Noise from trucks and excavation and processing. Unsafe driving by gravel trucks will continue as it has for many months. Use of Jake Breaks. Unsightly in a beautiful area. Dust from processing and transporting. The existing pit operations has a history of ignoring the concerns of local residents.
Mining so close to towns and residential, destroys natural water ways and bio diversity. Also, the negative health effects it will have for our communities.
I don’t want large trucks going day and night on Kawkawa road
Because of all the pollutants going into the ground/water and air.
Also the devastation it would cause towards the environments of animals, insects and plants.
We need to prioritize preserving natural areas, especially those with high biological importance.
Aside from the beauty of the area that is horribly scarred by the current gravel pit. There are health hazards and extra traffic through town that we don't want.
Public safety on our local roads from constant dump truck traffic.
Potential contamination of our wells and aquifer.
Destruction of our roads which the taxpayers of Hope may have to pay for.
I want to support those in the area with their justified concerns and retain the natural beauty of the area.
This will affect the beauty of the community
Excesive Dust Noise Eye Sore Not Needed Wild Life
I frequent Hope to take advantage of Kawkawa Lake, the Coquihalla River, and the disc golf park. Expansion of this facility is a serious concern.
Against zoning; traffic; dust pollution; there exists an option not to do it this way.
I love enjoying Kawkawa lake and am not interested in a gravel pit.
Creation of dust, huge scar visible, harming wildlife
The mountain is being taken away and ruining our beautiful town and surrounding area.
To save pristine land, species, and habitat, as well as the welfare of local residents. I understand the owner has already abused his allotted amount of gravel hauling, and expansion needs to be haulted.
Traffic road damage and noise pollution and impeding local traffic
This will impact the surrounding area and accessibility to the public trail to the Othello Tunnels . This will also cause a tremendous increase in traffic on adjoining Kawasaki Lake road and is a negative impact on the community.
Enough of this beautiful countryside has been destroyed already. Why are we even considering making it worse? Gravel is of no use to me!!! Let these gravel maniacs make their money somewhere else.
Keep our neighbourhood non commercial AND environmental reasons
It causes more erosion
We recently moved to Hope because of the quiet natural beauty that is here for everyone to enjoy- this expansion will destroy the area we live in and we are very upset about this!!!
Environment
I am local and believe this is not beneficial to Hope's tourism industry.
One reason is what it’s doing to the environment in the area.
Because it is important to my friends who live in the community of Hope.
Road use challenges, too close to Hope residents, loss of recreation area
That many trucks in the road will be a danger. Specially with your the trucker industry is hiring Sikh
We do t want the gravel put be extended
Negative viewshed impact on residents and visitors to Hope.
