The authorities of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy issued the decision number 76/09/31.10.2018 related to the development plans in Skala, Patmos, which includes the construction of a mooring pier for large cruise ships (length of 220 meters) in the port entrance and as a continuation of the Lighthouse.
Because this project will cause irreparable damage to the natural environment of the area, it will burden the atmosphere with dangerous (carcinogenic) pollutants for the human health, it will damage the port’s marine environment due to pollution, it will degrade the quality of life of the residents and will devalue our properties,
I hereby sign this declaration as a citizen, resident, permanent or seasonal, or visitor of Patmos and
I declare that I am strongly opposed and do not want the construction of the new mooring pier for the large cruise ships and I consent to an appeal against the competent authorities that issued the relevant decision, requesting its revocation.
If that appeal application is not accepted, I consent to an appeal with a petition for annulment to the Supreme Court.
