REQUEST OPINIONS
First, identify the people who will decide on the issue of your petition. Get in touch with these people. This often proves to be beneficial.
It is also worthwhile to contact non-political decision-makers, such as actors from the business or cultural sectors. Before a decision is made, you can communicate about the petition, exchange ideas and possibly draw attention to the petition together in the media.
REQUEST PERSONAL DELIVERY
Contact the decision-maker by email and request a personal meeting to deliver the petition. In the email, state how many signatures you have already collected and what your demands are. Make sure you use the correct title of the representative(s).
If a handover occurs, you should definitely prepare a press release. Please inform the journalists about this – we are happy to help.
If no appointment can be made, ask your supporters for help and together contact the decision-maker via X, email, or letter. If, for example, many supporters tag or tag the MP in a tweet or Facebook post and ask for a personal handover, you can increase the pressure together. A unique hashtag used by everyone can also help your request spread and ultimately reach the appropriate recipient.
