Petition addressed to: Sunshine Coast Regional council

The council is looking to destroy the one of the oldest banksias in the area as its roots have lifted the path. It is an incredibly small area and other alternatives are viable.

Reason

This tree provides food for the black cockatoos and shade for diners at the cafe. It is a wonderful asset adding beauty to this area.

Thank you so much for your support, Vicki Ball, Buddina

Why people sign

This tree has been here for many years and is home to lots of birds etc.
As the roots are pushing up the pavers, can’t this part be turned into a garden with the path continued on the outer edge. Surely a solution can somehow be found, rather than cutting down the tree which is such a total waste

This tree is a monument in this area for people and birds,

The cockatoo numbers are already decreasing and their habitat being cut down from all the development. Please save this tree and keep the food source as well as the visual benefit.
