I live in the very near vicinity of this proposed area for expansion. This is so wrong at so many levels to further destroy this community and so near the residential areas never mind the devastating effort this will have on our water systems. This entire area east of 7th ave to west of kawkawa lake has twice now and still is under a bacteria issue with our drinking water of which they still can not determine the cause so is under an added chlorine for far too long. If they start mining and have tailing ponds etc etc like all over BC will just destroy the nature of this beautiful little town and have an everlasting effort for generations to come. I do not support any expansion of this kind so near to all of us neighbors. It was bad enough last couple summers with all the gravel trucks hauling the gravel and rocks etc out of the pit, destroying the roads which yes us the local taxpayers have to keep paying for. I can only encourage the district to step up to the plate and use the municipal authority to kick start their own petition or support the community and find a way to get all residents of hope and all tax payers and all visitors to this town aware of this mining proposal. Come on city hall and Mr. mayor Victor Smith and councilors, where are your voices to speak out and start taking some action, this if your town too. You can start by erecting that same mining proposal sign at each highway and road entrance to this town for all to see this ludicrous mining proposal.
