I live in this community in phase 1 & this change would impact every aspect of our quaint, safe neighborhood. Our roads cannot handle traffic for this many houses. It would not be safe for kids to play in the streets any longer. Crime rates will go up if you bring in lower priced housing & rental properties. Houses this close together will be a fire hazard of epic proportion. Not to mention that bringing in lower priced housing will lower the values of all the houses in phase 1. When we bought, we were sold on the fact that phase 2 would be higher costs houses, not lower costs. If phase 3 brings in even lower cost housing than they are building in phase 2, that will only lower our values even more making us all upside down on our mortgages. We were sold on the fact that Windmill Creek is an upscale neighborhood with spacious lots. If these changes are approved, none of this would be true anymore & everything we were promised when we purchased would be a lie & misrepresentation by the Windmill creek developers & realtor. We want what we were promised when we purchased in Windmill Creek, not what will make Patty Farr, Benny Hoy, & Larry Ryan more money.

I have lived here for 25 years and as of right now we are almost 50% rental properties. That takes away of the small town feel. We want more nice subdivisions and ideal spacing between houses.

I want to keep platte city a high quality/low crime place. With the warehouses coming in, the "affordable housing" will be bought out by investors who rent properties at high prices. We'll have factory workers rooming in rental properties, lowering values and bringing more crime and poverty into our neighborhoods. Platte city has always been a well sought after community. Let's keep it that way.

Slow down the growth of our community. We don't have the school space, road infrastructure, fire/police to keep up with the growth.

Platte City officials need to be bold and set firm precedent in protecting its citizens from harmful actions of developers who only seek immediate profits and care too little for long term outcomes of their actions.

This affects our entire community and our precious resources. While affordable housing is needed in Platte City, pulling a bait and switch, with an unreliable builder in Windmill Creek is not the answer.

This was not the picture we were sold on when purchasing our home in Windmill Creek. Allowing D.R. Horton, an out of state builder, to come in and change Platte City code in an effort to squeeze more houses in our community is not what we want. This will lower our property value
