In my opinion it's looks overcrowded and tacky when houses are so close together as well as feeling like you have no privacy when your neighbors are basically attached to you. Also, more schools would need to be built in a timely manner to accommodate all the kids so many homes would be bringing in. I would like Platte city to keeps it's smaller town feel away from the big city.
DO NOT allow out-of-town, greedy corporations and developers to change the rules. Keep your promises to the residents of Windmill Creek.
Protecting property value
Because we have to preserve our SMALL town!!
Don’t want it to happen in my neighborhood and lower values. Stop changing the rules and listen to the people!
Mike and I oppose the decrease In lot sizes in phases 3 and 4. We were promised that when we moved to this subdivision Windmill Creek that the next phases would be in the Upper 500,000 to 800,000. That Windmill Creek was going to be a subdivision that was going to promote the value of our homes in the 1st phase, not decrease their value by letting (affordable) housing build in Phases 2, 3, and 4. We have worked hard all our lives to have the houses of our Dreams and spend our hard earned money to do so. Only to be LIED to and let Cheaper housing move in. Which DECREASES the values of our homes in Phase 1. We would have never even considered building here. Since we moved back to Platte City the people who run this town and the people who grease their palms are destroying the quiet country like atmosphere we all loved so much. Shame on you all for trying to take away our City just so you can make a buck and cater to the Big Corporations. Such as the new builder from out of State and the new GIGANTIC business across the street.
Don’t need more multi family housing
Don’t want more multifamily units. Too much traffic.
Integrity
We have lived in a DR Horton community and the tight living conditions were constantly annoying.
The future of our small town which currently has great appeal and standards
To stop the cheating of officials who let stuff roll off their finger tips such as Windmill Creek issues and the request of the cheap home builder D R Horton to reduce the size of the planned lots which will break what was promised as a upper end home development just to bring in a troubled home builder of junk homes.
The developers and realtors should be held accountable to what was sold and marketed. The new builder is bad news.
I believe in multi-family housing. But, I do NOT believe that it's fair to create single-family homes, sell them, and then update the plans for the existing area. That's a bait-and-switch to people that made a decision to live in a single-family neighborhood, and paid the premium for that.
No more multifamily dwellings needed in that area.
The Future of Platte City
James R Mobley
Destroy our peaceful community life with crowding, excess traffic and noise.
I am a homeowner in Windmill Creek.
Don't make lots smaller. There is plenty of vacant land in platte cty.
I want to preserve the higher standard building codes we have in Platte city and not have low budget homes built.
Platte City is a great place to live. While new housing for less than $400,000 would be good, a neighborhood with homes crammed together would soon look trashy. Streets lined with parked cars would look like a parking lot, and homes with only 10 feet between them would compromise a quality of life we enjoy here in Platte City.
This builder is not reputable, the building code exceptions they are seeking are outrageous and potentially dangerous and their multifamily housing units will bring down my property value.
Because we need the city, inspectors, assessors on the side of homeowners. We are trying to buy homes for our future and we all need homes that exceed standards.
We don’t need more houses crammed together in our area.
Property value and safety for our residents
Home owner in Windmill Creek
moved here to be part of a small community without feeling cramped and where my property value would not diminish because of greedy politicians and realtors.
Quality of the city
Stop building stuff we don’t need
