We need the town of Brunswick, Maine to make bike racks available in uncommon places like small parks, gas stations, trails, pull-offs, etc.. People begin to believe that bicycles are "abandoned" if they are left there, even if they are locked to a tree or fence in those areas.

Razones.

A lot of homeless individuals are experiencing issues with their bikes being taken by Parks and Rec and then left in the hands of the police so most of the time they will never get them back because of fear. Individuals that work in the area, and live across the swinging walking bridge also sometimes need to leave their bike in the park while they walk the rest of the way to their homes because they might not be able to bring the bike all the way to their home/living space, and even if they lock their property and the same thing happens where its left in the hands of the police. When it happened to me just a few weeks ago, I was lucky that one of the officers knew it was my bike and contacted me. If he hadn't I would still wonder where my bike is and still paying a crazy amount of money for taxis every day. Not everyone has such luck though. I want the town of Brunswick to put bike racks in uncommon places such as Brunswick Historical Walking Bridge that connects to Topsham, the park on Maine Street where the gazebo sits, in all of the Park and Ride lots, at the beginning and end of each Bicycle/Walking Trails that lead from town by the highway and by the college/cemetery entrance both leading to Cooks Corner, the small park next to Tess' Market, both Lighthouse Laundry locations, and last but certainly not least because there are plenty more places where these are needed; both Cumberland Farms and Rusty's Tavern locations. If the town places bicycle racks in these areas, less people will lose their property because of confusion and the police will not have to find more places to store, "abandoned" or "lost" bicycles.
