Begjæringen er stilet til: Cities and Municipal Governments

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that municipalities across Canada refrain from permitting large-scale, politically charged “worship” events—especially those tied to figures promoting MAGA-aligned ideology and U.S.-style religious nationalism—in our public parks and shared community spaces.

These performances are not neutral acts of worship. They often include:

So-called "altar calls" inviting LGBTQ2S+ people to be “healed” or “delivered” into heterosexuality—a practice widely recognized as a form of conversion therapy, which is illegal in Canada.

Calls to replace democracy with religious rule, such as declaring that “God should be in charge of the government.”

Rejection of LGBTQ2S+ rights, feminism, racial justice movements, and the right to reproductive freedom—all of which are core values in Canadian society.

At a time when political extremism is rising in the United States and misinformation spreads rapidly online, we believe it is critical to protect Canadian public spaces from imported ideologies that promote division, discrimination, and the erosion of human rights.

We are not against faith. We support freedom of religion and the right to worship—but public land is shared land, and it must remain safe, inclusive, and welcoming to all.

These events do not represent Canadian Christianity. They represent a radicalized political movement disguised as religion. We believe they belong in private spaces like churches—not in city parks meant for families, children, and all members of our diverse communities.

We call on city leaders and park authorities to uphold Canadian values of equality, inclusion, and peace by declining permits for these types of public events.

This is not about silencing faith. It’s about refusing to let foreign political agendas hijack our public squares.
