Hello Everyone,
I had a meeting at Bracklesham with representatives from various CDC departments a week ago. I think they are for it in principle. We also have at least one councillor Elizabeth Hamilton batting for us for which is good and will help.
BUT ... we are waiting for the Environment Agency to tell us if we can let the shower water run off into the shingle. I explained that the purpose of the shower was to rinse off salt water and people were not in the habit of using shampoo and shower gel when using these showers as they are cold. We shall see. If the EA say okay, then the proposal is that it is installed just the other side of the slipway but of course lots of hoops to jump through still and budget approval required so to be honest it's anybody's guess. If EA say it needs to be drained off into the system somehow I think the project might be scuppered. That said I am an optimist but we might need to cross a few fingers.

Hello
We need about 8 more signatures to get over the line ... anything you can do to help would be much appreciated.

Thanks everyone do for supporting we are technically at 250 signatures but unfortunately some people have kept names and addresses secret and .. um .... they don't count as they need to know you are real people. If you are one of those people I wonder if you would mind doing it again or withdrawing your vote. Thanks again

I don't think there's any reason for this petition to run beyond the end of October.

Thank you everyone for your support.
We are 70 signatures short to get it officially proposed although we also have two councillors who are supporting us.
If everyone could find one friend/son/daughter/uncle/aunt (you get the drift) then we would be through the magic 250 mark.
Thank you again, this time next year we can be showering off before our post swim coffees.
Happy Swimming
James

Thanks so much everyone for your support. 100 signatures to go (we ideally need 250 not 500) and positive vibes from council.

Thansk all for supporting this petition. 60 in 24 hours is fab. Hopefully we can reach the 250 signatures required. Please do share. Many thanks. James

Just needed a tweak to avoid repetition of the word refurbishment
New petition description:
The toilet facilities at Bracklesham Bay are in dire need of refurbishment and this is now apparently scheduled for refurbishment later this year. The Beach at Bracklesham Bay is very popular well used by a growing community of swimmers and surfers as well as holidaymakers all of whom would benefit from the ability to have a shower to wash off the salty water. We would like some outdoor showers to be installed as part of the refurbishment.

I've re read the petition and realised that there was some reputation and it needed editing but I think it's okay now.
