Petition addressed to: Chichester District Council
The toilet facilities at Bracklesham Bay are in dire need of refurbishment and this is now apparently scheduled for later this year. The Beach at Bracklesham Bay is very popular well used by a growing community of swimmers and surfers as well as holidaymakers all of whom would benefit from the ability to have a shower to wash off the salty water. We would like some outdoor showers to be installed as part of the refurbishment.
Reason
The Beach at Bracklesham Bay is an important recreational facility for Chichester. It is a growing community hub for open water enthusiasts; swimmers, surfers, dippers and sauna users. It's also a popular holidaymaker and day tripper destination with people traveling into the area. It's civilised and healthy for people to be able to wash off the salty water after being in the sea. Some showers would greatly benefit all those who use the beach.

Why people sign
I use the beach and swim in the sea regularly throughout the year and therefore pay the parking fees which are not cheap through the summer period a shower would make the parking cost more acceptable.
Given the on going issues with water pollution a shower to help with health and hygiene of users of the beach/sea. Would also show willingness to keep people safe whilst promoting healthy active living.
This is important to me because I regularly visit Bracklesham Bay with my family and use the beach for swimming and recreation. After spending time in the sea, there is currently no convenient way to rinse off salt water and sand before returning home or travelling elsewhere. Outdoor showers would improve comfort, hygiene, and accessibility for local residents, surfers, swimmers, families with children, and visitors. As Bracklesham Bay continues to grow in popularity, modern facilities such as outdoor showers would be a valuable addition and would enhance the overall beach experience for everyone.
