Petition addressed to: HABS Elstree School
Having learned more through social media about the reasons behind the HABS teachers’ strike, and about the circumstances surrounding the proposed contract changes and the reported “fire and rehire” process, we wanted to express our support for the teaching staff.
We do not believe it is fair not to honour the original contracts agreed with the professionals to whom we have entrusted the education of our children.
We greatly value the commitment and quality of the teachers at the school and sincerely hope that a constructive resolution can be reached quickly and respectfully for all involved.
The teachers retention and staff morale are directly linked to children's educational experience.

As someone that works in a school and sees how hard they work in and out of their working hours, the school should not be allowed to implement these contracts. The government needs to step in now!
If the teachers are not successful in keeping their contracts, all teachers need to work their contracted hours only and then the school will see how quickly things go sour!
