According to the American Medical Association, “It is estimated that white LED lamps have five times greater impact on circadian sleep rhythms than conventional street lamps. Recent large surveys found that brighter residential nighttime lighting is associated with reduced sleep times, dissatisfaction with sleep quality, excessive sleepiness, impaired daytime functioning and obesity.”

I think changing lighting or other environmental factors within an established environment can definitely disturb the animals in that area.

We live in the Rocket City...home of NASA and Marshall Space Flight Center. Dark skies is very important to us as we use to be able to see the Space Station fly overhead. Then you add the disruption of circadian rhythms, sleep deprivation and all the environmental issues by having such bright lights. Bats and migration patterns are affected just to name a few. There are many components to the new LED lights...Kelvin and Lumens. Consider directing lighting downward and use dimmers and timers....have dark hours from 10 pm to 6 am.
