as an owner of a rental property on North Beach, allowing properties such as 4513 Gulfbreeze Blvd to be rebuilt on the ground would be unsafe to any protectional tenant due to the flooding in the area. the amount estimated to rebuild does not cover any allowances for unforeseen added cost, plumbing, new sewer lines, waterlines, rewire electrical to meet city code, concrete for foundation, not to mention no work to be done on roof ,
My concern is if this rebuilt is allowed, it just opens doors for others to follow suit
Allowing the construction undermines investment on North Beach
It has potential negative effects on the Neighborhood and overall development vision of the city for North Beach.
That area floods and homes should be on stilts..
We own a house in North Beach.
The value of property is very much at stake. My family has had property on the Island for more 100 years. Had courts, Fishing Pier, Paradise Fishing Pier and Mai Tai Restaurant, Rental Cottages through the 1960’s. Also had a Residence and rental that complied with the Height and other requirements and are still there since the 80’s. Allowing substandard buildings of any type will be very detrimental to the value of property on the island.
These buildings should be torn down. They cannot be renovated.
Live very close to site
Important to a positive future for North Beach
As a property owner I want every property to comply with flood and parking laws so that the progress on North Beach is another step in the right direction . I hope the City of Corpus will vote in our favor . Thank you
It is our neighborhood, and we have rental property in the area, which should be upgraded not downgraded.
I live in the Nort Beach area and would like to see it continue to improve and follow guidelines for flood zones and upgraded areas of our properties
It seems someone is playing games or taking bribes if the city thinks the renovations for 5 buildings are that inexpensive. Especially in today’s real estate market.
I've drove by this property and looked at it. I actually got out and walked around from a distance. I could see that it's going to require more than just renovations. It's going to require a complete new build. It needs to be taken up off the ground so that when we have high water it won't be flooded.
I work in North Beach and want the area be the beat place to live, work and visit. I enjoy my beautiful view from my place of employment. I would like everyone to enjoy North Beach.
I believe the city should look at the permits again as I believe there is much more work needed in order to bring the property up to code.
These cottages are an eyesore and they need to be demolished. The proposed improvements is not enough to make a significant and long term commitment to the future of North Beach
I love North beach and I do not like being surrounded by cheap, drug cartel.
I think this is the wrong thing to do
I am a concerned property owner in the neighborhood.
Area and neighborhood development and improvements have been required to comply with all applicable codes, rules, requirements, etc.
We want to maintain a good safe neighborhood for us and our investment.
To upgrade North Beach
The goal of the North Beach community is to elevate our area so that it is more attractive to residents and visitors. I do not believe this project would accomplish anything toward that goal.
I believe that city staff's acceptance of the unrealistically low projected costs submitted for the extensive renovations was a mistake. Allowing this project to move forwards will endanger property values and public safety in our city's prime tourist area, a neighborhood that has experienced a recent surge in both public and private investment.
Furthermore, allowing blighted structures to be completely rebuilt at ground level is completely contrary to the City of Corpus Christi's master plan for the redevelopment of North Beach. In fact it undermines that plan.
This petition is Important to us because it will affect some of our friends that’s live near these cottages . We also own a business on North Beach .
Congestion, safety of existing neighbors and structures, does not meet current code
The safety of our community will suffer greatly if this run-down slum property starts renting out to prostitution and drug dealers.
These buildings need to be torn down not just $1,600 each remodeling.
I tried to buy this property with the intent to tear down the sheds and build a proper beach home but it sold before I finished my due diligence.
What I did learn is the sheds were not livable unless rebuilt for a minimum of $10,000 to $15,000 plus EACH
To keep North Beach beautiful and clean
I have a home on North Beach. I want the city to do its part to make North Brach a safe and attractive community.
North Beach has seen major improvements most recently. Allowing a renovation for a dilapidated property that should clearly be demolished is a step backwards for North Beach. It is unbelievable that a permit was issued based on a fictional quote.
