I am a property owner in NB and live in NB. I look for projects that can move NB forward. How can we let this blighted structures be re built when we will be building a new canal and many new multimillion projects coming to NB.

Have you seen these buildings? I'm 54 years in the construction business. Spending $8, 400 on Unit 4 is a drop in the bucket and will still leave the property sIeverely blighted. I am born and raised here but am the first to recognize we have some of the most blighted neighborhoods in Texas. Approving this project furthers that problem. You MUST consult EXPERTS and reconsider this bad decision.

I live on North Beach and am embarrassed by the blight the City has allowed throughout North Beach. "Grandfathered in" is no excuse for shoddily constructed anything, much-less short-term rentals; shoddy is all one could expect with such a low stated budget. Just to replace my patio door cost me $3,100! I see people grimace when I tell them I live in North Beach, the forgotten part of the City. Besides, I always thought "grandfathered in" went away with a new owner; it SHOULD!

There has been so much progress on North Beach, and this property does not represent what I believe to be community standards or up to date building codes for the area.

This is my neighborhood and these dilapidated buildings should not be rebuilt in a flood zone. The city did not compare the owner's projected renovation costs to fair market value, which FEMA requires.

This project should not have been permitted. I am a 20 year North Beach homeowner who worked for many years in construction. I feel that allowing this project to be grandfathered hurts not only future development here, it is a poor investment as it will create substandard, ground-level housing in an area prone to floods.
