The court system historically has been decades behind the need. The need to provide child support and spousal support came from a time of single income homes which is not the norm anymore, now that both parents typically work there is no reason that fathers should be having to fight so hard for equal access to their children. Statistically speaking children in single father homes do far better in life than children in single mother homes.
