This is important because as someone who had grew up with cheer knows that it’s not only a sport it a bonding team that is strong and we need a coach that knows tue cheer roots
All the hard work GHS cheer staff has done to get these student athletes to where they are now is being put down the drain and given to somebody who has NO expertise in CHEER.
Garfield cheer has a big reputation and needs a coach who has cheer experience
We need to save cheer from this new coach Jackie! A drill coach should not be a cheer coach! She has brought so many problems! We can’t have someone take what Garfield Cheer has worked so hard for. I stand for these girls and for parents. We all need to join together and save this program!!!!
Help cheer
Because its always good to support a friend or family
I believe that cheerleading is a distinct sport that warrants a coach fully dedicated to the success of the team. Drill and cheerleading are fundamentally different distinct sports, much like asking a soccer coach to also coach volleyball.
Having a dedicated cheer coach is crucial for the development, safety, and success of a cheerleading team.
Do better Garfield!
My nieces are in cheer. They have spoke of of this coach was very rude to cheerleaders.
I feel as a cheer coach that drill and cheer are two different worlds. They need there cheer staff as they have the knowledge of cheeeleading. Don't take there coaches away.
Because cheerleading is important to those girl!! Well do anything to support them
I have family that cheers for the Bulldogs! Love you Maddie 🫶
Because I love Garfield HS and this is a sad situation that is happening
These girls work hard and don’t deserve this!!
It’s important because I used to part of the cheer squad long time ago and I’m proud to say that cheer has been one of the top sports here at Garfield High. My daughter was also on the cheer squad. They’re more suitable candidates that are not part of drill and will do a better job. Drill coach has no business being a cheer coach especially if she is the one that caused most drill and cheer issues.
one of the cheerleaders had went to my school for a year.
Cheer tradition and respect
My niece is part of this team, she is an upcoming senior and we know how much this means to her. And how much it should mean to everyone, especially a community as big as East LA.
My little cousin is on the cheer squad and this directly impacts her in a negative way
As a cheerleader, a parent, and a cheer coach,
These kids deserve better. Cheer and drill are 2 completely different worlds. You wouldn’t combine baseball with soccer, why would you combine cheer and drill?
Noone should Lose their job without a valid reason
Because my cousin is a Garfield cheer and she loves doing that, and it’s important to me to help her.
Garfield cheer needs to maintain their reputation and needs a coach that has experience with cheer.
Garfield cheer has a big reputation to maintain and needs a coach that has experience.
It’s the spirit of Garfield high school
Garfield Cheer needs a coach that has experience with cheer
My niece is in the cheer team
We need to pick a coach that is there for our girls this coach will take out how she feels
On ours girls because last year she treated them so bad
The drill coach should be removed from the cheer team because their approach has consistently failed to create a positive and supportive environment, which is crucial for the team's overall success and well-being. Their methods, characterized by harsh and unconstructive criticism, have significantly dampened the morale of the cheerleaders, leading to a decline in both individual and team performance. Instead of fostering growth and confidence, the coach's negative tactics have instilled fear and anxiety among team members, which is counterproductive to achieving excellence in cheerleading.
Moreover, the coach has shown a lack of effective communication skills, often dismissing the concerns and suggestions of the cheerleaders, thereby eroding trust and respect. This authoritarian style of coaching has resulted in a lack of motivation and enthusiasm, making practices a dreaded obligation rather than an enjoyable and enriching experience. The detrimental impact on team cohesion and spirit cannot be overlooked, as a united and motivated team is essential for executing complex routines and stunts safely and efficiently.
Replacing the current drill coach with a new coach who values encouragement, constructive feedback, and team cohesion is imperative. A coach who understands the importance of building a positive team culture, where each cheerleader feels supported and appreciated, will help in unlocking the full potential of the team. The cheerleaders need a mentor who inspires confidence, nurtures talent, and cultivates a sense of belonging, ultimately leading to improved performance and a more harmonious team dynamic.
Fighting for Garfield cheer
cheer & drill should be kept separate
it’s important to me because all cheer girls deserve to have there coaches back and let cheer and drill be there own thing. Not only that but cheer has always been there own thing and drill as well
