Because my friends have these majors and I don’t want them to have their career ruined by football.
It affects my peers education.
I would like to do full dual enrollment and need the math to graduate
I am currently a dual enrolled student and was looking forward to applying to Clayton State as a math major, but with this change, I may have to look for options elsewhere
The science and arts are important part to our society's growth. Getting rid of that opportunity will take away from students expanding their mind and learning subjects that are integral for our future.
I graduated from Clayton State in 2022 with a Theatre Degree and that Theatre Program saved my life and helped shape me into the adult I am today. You can NOT cut the theatre program, there are more artistic youth of color that need this program.
Clayton State University is said to give their students opportunities to explore who they are as an individual and they're cutting down on their diversity with the decision to cut STEM programs based on numbers from peak COVID.
My son’s major
This is a breach of contract with my son. He is a theater student that is being affected.
I am an in education and I have students who are a part of this program and will be affected by program not continuing.
I am an alum of CSU and I absolutely love theater and the arts! The stage was a place of breakthrough for some that I know too.
I would want to do stem-based dual enrollment classes in high school.
Theater has been one of my favorite things about college and how I made all my friends
Theatre is such an important aspect on college campuses. It bring an amazing community together.
Undervaluing the arts will have consequences on society. You can’t just thrive with stem only generations.
As a CSU alumni, I can truly say I encountered many theatre students who served as motivation and inspiration for myself and my fellow film majors. They are as much a part of CSU’s college of arts culture as every other program at said institution.
I was once a film student at Clayton State and I don't want to see art majors be overlooked like always
As a fellow alumnus of Clayton State with a BA in Film Production, I know just how very important the STEAM majors are, especially with the addition of the arts. I have met a lot of great people from all of these majors, and it would be a shame if they get cut. Clayton State is already an affordable school as is. It would be unfair for students to have to find another school with those majors that would probably be more expensive than what they were already paying.
STEAM majors are just as important as STEM majors
I am an alumni of the Theatre program at Clayton State University. Many of my classmates & friends are still in the program or have graduated. Theatre is vital as it teaches the foundations of acting, film, and history of both fields. Georgia has a booming film industry, active live theaters in Atlanta, and graduates of the program have gone on to successfully thrive in these industries and beyond. Theatre teaches discipline, dedication, creativity, builds communication skills, and teamwork. I am thankful for my time in the Theatre program and hope it can be saved for future generations.
My friend, Nancy, was a theater major and it meant so much to her to be able to have an affordable school to be able to study what she wanted. Her parents were so adamant she study something that would bring her immediate income, but she wanted to act, sing, and become another artistic voice in this world. We're going to lose so many voices that already aren't heard in the industry. Please reconsider cutting Theater.
These programs are essential to this university and their elimination is short-sided and will only hurt future enrollment.
This is important to me because education is important to me. Every human being should be able to learn what others have learned before them and I feel it is disrespectful to the students to drop a program when so many are almost finished. Dropping these programs now, is showing these students that they are not important enough to spend the money for these programs. These are our leaders of the future!! Not followers. These are our creative minds and free thinkers! The fundamental questions of how the universe works and where we are going, are what these students want to know.
They love research! Please find a way to keep these programs going!! I live in Fayetteville, GA and never see fundraiser letters or events for Clayton State. BE BETTER!!!
I have a nephew, nieces, and children who have CSU as a prospective choice when they attend college. If these majors are removed, it would lower their likelihood to consider enrolling at CSU.

I am a Theater major, and for this program to be deactivated, has greatly affected me..
I am an incoming theater major at Clayton State University and have no fall back if my major is cut.
The theater community welcomes everyone’s and can be seen as a safe place for people that feel misunderstood. For many their theater friends may be the only friends they have. A lot of my friends in theater have families that aren’t supportive of who they are and what they do and theater is their only way to escape.
This Program Played An Important Part In Two People Lives That Are Near To Me
One Post Graduation and One Currently Take The Courses
STEAM programs are essential.
I just found out about this today. I am a Film Major and this greatly impacts me. As a student who strives to have a career in filmmaking, this is disappointing that there deciding to do this. I hope anyone who are under these programs will spread and share this petition, I as well as we can’t let this happen.
