Otis Taylor, alongside Len Dawson and a host of other Kansas City Chief Pro Football Hall of Fame players, helped bring the Lombardi Trophy to Kansas City for the first time during Super Bowl IV.
However, because his playing career was well over 50 years ago, most Chiefs fans today may not know about Otis Taylor, his career, and one defining moment that changed NFL rules, and thereby NFL history. Additionally, most people also do not understand that Taylor was apart of a Civil Rights movement where talent from HBCU's played a significant role in the development, growth, and success of both the American Football and National Football leagues prior to the merger and formation of the National Football League.
