We the undersigned support upgrading the design of N. 5th St. (between Spring Garden and Girard Ave) to calm traffic and improve conditions for people walking and biking (while preserving parking). We petition the City’s Office of Transportation Infrastructure and Sustainability (OTIS) and City Council to work with residents on design options that can be used for pilot testing and implementation. We acknowledge and accept the potential tradeoff of longer travel times for motorists if it results in a safer environment for residents (while preserving parking).
Պատճառ
North 5th St between Spring Garden and Girard is a wonderful stretch of beautiful, historic homes with a massive traffic problem. Cars and trucks barrel through with little regard for those on the streets, causing danger and inhospitable living conditions. The good news is, this can be addressed by working with the city to rethink the design and work to calm traffic conditions. By signing this petition, we can demonstrate to City Council that we want to see change
