Dilekçe şu adrese hitaben yazılmıştır: Illinois General Assembly
Illinois House of Representatives have already voted in favor to designate a honorary street called little Palestine way on Harlem avenue between 79th Street and 111th Street. The bill has now been sent to Senate in Illinois. This sign is unnecessary and ludicrous for several reasons. First, in Bridgeview, Illinois, the area known as Little Palestine is only on 87th Street between Harlem Avenue and Oketo Avenue. Second, the majority of Palestinians live south of 87th Street. Third, this completely ignores the wishes of other people of these communities: not just Bridgeview, but also Burbank and Worth, Illinois. This was never brought up as a referendum, nor does it have any regard for the other ethnic groups in Bridgeview that have never had a street dedicated to their honor. One of the largest ethnic groups in Bridgeview is Polish, but there is no honorary street for them.
We therefore ask all senators to vote no on the bill regarding the honorary street "Little Palestine Way."

I have owned a home in Bridgeview since 1991. The changes to Bridgeview have been very disheartening. I believe Harlem Avenue should remain Harlem Avenue. Why should it change? Because of the Palestinians moving to the area? Buying up businesses? For this we should change a street name to honor them? I do not agree. Harlem Avenue is a main North and South road that is owned and maintained by the State of Illinois. It is a State road, not Village property and should remain as is.
