Petition is addressed to: Illinois General Assembly

Illinois House of Representatives have already voted in favor to designate a honorary street called little Palestine way on Harlem avenue between 79th Street and 111th Street. The bill has now been sent to Senate in Illinois. This sign is unnecessary and ludicrous for several reasons. First, in Bridgeview, Illinois, the area known as Little Palestine is only on 87th Street between Harlem Avenue and Oketo Avenue. Second, the majority of Palestinians live south of 87th Street. Third, this completely ignores the wishes of other people of these communities: not just Bridgeview, but also Burbank and Worth, Illinois. This was never brought up as a referendum, nor does it have any regard for the other ethnic groups in Bridgeview that have never had a street dedicated to their honor. One of the largest ethnic groups in Bridgeview is Polish, but there is no honorary street for them.
We therefore ask all senators to vote no on the bill regarding the honorary street "Little Palestine Way."

Thank you for your support, Skalden Andersson, Bridgeview

Why people sign

Leave well enough alone. No need to change a street name that has been Harlem for thousands of years

Tired of Palestine people doing what they want, blocking roads to protest whenever they want shutting down traffic on major thoroughfares especially roads to major healthcare facilities and now shutting down traffic for a wedding without permits. They do not deserve a street named after their ethnicity. I don’t see that for other ethnicities.

Because the town bridgeview is being run over I mean they nick named it little Palestine on the gps. lol it’s Bridgeview. We should not honor a street to Palestine because before u know it we will have to follow there laws

Our community was built buy every ethnic group. Our taxes built there community. You honor this and it’s Sharia law next.Men are already policing there neighborhoods and they are not the police,They are supposed to fit in to America not us fitting into the Palestinian way.

I think we should keep Harlem ave naked rightly so no extra signs or names
