We, the undersigned residents of Key Biscayne, are writing to express our deep concern and opposition to the proposed Silver Sands Hotel project. This project presents several serious issues that must be thoroughly considered before any further action is taken:

1. Zoning Changes: The petition for this project includes a request for a zoning change and proposes a building that exceeds the current height and width regulations. Such changes would significantly alter the character of our neighborhood and set a precedent for future developments.
2. Noise and Traffic Pollution: The plan to relocate the truck route from the Oceana side to Key Colony would expose residents to increased noise pollution and traffic, negatively affecting the quality of life for those who live in the area.
3. Construction Pollution: The construction phase would result in considerable dust, debris, and noise, posing health risks to residents, particularly those with respiratory conditions, and degrading the overall environment.
4. Environmental Impact: The proposed development could harm local wildlife habitats and ecosystems. Protecting our natural surroundings is essential for the environmental health of Key Biscayne.
5. Community Input: The developers are pushing for a quick vote while many neighbors are on holiday, which limits community input and undermines the democratic process. All residents should have the opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns regarding this significant development.

In light of these issues, we respectfully request that no further action be taken on the Silver Sands Hotel Site project until there has been ample opportunity for community input and a thorough review of the potential impacts. We urge you to consider alternative solutions that align with our community's zoning regulations, protect our residents from pollution and traffic, and safeguard our environment.
