Reason

The Windswept carriage house ruins are one of the last physical links to Narragansett’s Gilded Age history. Once part of a grand seaside estate, the site has weathered more than a century of change, fire, and neglect. Today, its stone walls still stand as a reminder of the town’s past — but without care, this unique landmark risks fading further into disrepair.
Restoring and enhancing the site is about more than cleaning up ruins. It’s about:

Preserving History – Protecting one of the few remaining structures tied to Narragansett’s turn-of-the-century estates.
Creating Community Space – Making Windswept a place where residents and visitors can gather, learn, and reflect.
Fostering Education – Sharing the story of the Davis family, Cobb’s by the Sea, and the broader cultural history of the area.
