Petition addressed to: Washburn Residents, McLean County Residents, North Dakotans, etc

The parcel of land between Hwy 83 and the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center, (lot B of Nakota Subdivision), is being purchased to build a fenced-in facility for several long storage unit buildings. These new storage units will be built to accommodate boats, trailers, RV’s, etc. making them taller and wider buildings covering direct visibility of the Lewis & Clark Interpretative Center from Hwy 83. Please sign this petition if you are a resident of Washburn ND or a fellow North Dakotan or a lover of North Dakota in general. Washburn, North Dakota is known for its beautiful historical site of Fort Mandan and The Lewis & Clark Interpretative Center & Rest Area which shares the true historical accounts of how Lewis & Clark were guided by Sakagewea across the Early American Frontier.

Please join us in preserving the visibility of this important historical site by signing our petition and then tell your friends and family about this petition as well so they can help join in and stop this money-scheming lucrative endeavor from taking place. Please Sign & Share… Thank You!

Thank you so much for your support, Sharla Kosloski, Washburn

Why people sign

To help support the people of Washburn who do not want a commercial eyesore to in front of the Lewis and Clark Interpretive. It is nice to have that area open to see traffic on 83 from HWY 200 before you pull up to the stop sign.

I don't think putting a storage facility infront of the Interpative center is the right thing to do.

The storage units in the area proposed would be detrimental to the aesthetic's of The Lewis and Clark Interpretative Center. It us such a beautiful area now.

This isn’t the right place for the construction of storage units — which would obstruct the view of the Interpretive Center.

It is important that visibility from highway ND 83 & therefore natural accessibility to the interpretative center NOT be hindered by storage units blocking views & also obstructing views of farmers produce from harvest being sold from the interpretative center parking lot.

Something more integrative to public interaction needs to be on that lot(s).
