The signers of this petition wish to notify the Paso Robles City Council that we are very unhappy with the current parking situation in downtown Paso Robles.

We are in favor of a minimum of two hours free parking.
Kiosks and signage are a mess, distracting and make parking in Paso Robles a deterrent to shopping.
We support the Downtown Merchants who are opposed to charging from the minute someone parks.
This situation has been been going on far too long and needs to be solved once and for all.
We would like the Council to looking into using the TOT to build a parking garage.
The City Council needs to recognize that Downtown Paso Robles is in competition with areas that have free parking and are losing business as a result.
Downtown Merchants have made it clear that they are losing business because of the parking situation and need to the Paso Robles City to be responsive to their request to end the paid parking program.

We need to support the merchants of Downtown Paso Robles. They have made it clear that they do not want paid parking in the Downtown area. It drives business away. Once people get out of the habit of shopping downtown they will likely not return. Downtown is losing customers because many people are fed up with kiosks and parking apps. We need to make shopping downtown a pleasant experience that encourages people to return, bring friends and recommend it to other people. We want tourists to enjoy their vacations and have a memorable visit. Also, these merchants pay state, federal, local, sales taxes, payroll taxes and deserve extra consideration. Our success as a city depends on their being able to function as we as possible.
