A parent such as myself has to deny my child from boarding the bus which affects their education because I would rather have someone who won’t take it out on my child because they were reprimanded because of their behavior. For example one of my kids was being dropped off and her father was on his way down to grab only to be met with a neighbor who witnessed my child being dropped off under the assumption that one of the adults outside was her parent and left her standing there confused. My child is autistic anything could’ve happened. She was given training and placed back on her route until I took a stand and refused her in the route. How is this safe? There is another driver who blocked my child from getting on the bus and began arguing of directions not being in his tablet due to his companies failure to add so for all of my kids. Zum also has an insane rule of a 1 min wait time for a child. Parents with special needs do not always have the same morning routine because sometimes our children may go thru a bad moment and we have to calm them down before getting out the door. Parents such as myself do not have Transportation and depend on school transportation to help.
Some of us don’t feel heard or respected to be able to make sure our kids are protected and being driven by respectful and professional individuals.
