Petition is addressed to: school principal

We want to ban the pouches instead of banning phones because they’re unsafe, the school shouldn’t be allowed to take away our phones, and they’re wasting a lot of money on them.

Reason

Implementing Yondr pouches would cost between $30,000–$40,000, money that is desperately needed in other areas of our school. This policy is irresponsible and misguided, especially when there are far more important issues that need attention. The pouches are likely to be broken or misused, making the investment ineffective and wasteful. For the safety and well-being of everyone, we encourage you to sign this petition to stop the policy from being put in place.

Thank you for your support, Student of RHS, 98642

Why people sign

Важна для будущего моих детей и внуков,чтоб был мир на земле и никто не был унижен

We don’t feel safe without our phones and having yondr pouches would just be more of a distraction than having the same phone policy as last year kids are going to be trying to open them during class and sneaking around to get them open

Why take away our phones in lunch? It is our free time! And the pouch system; it would be expensive for kids trashing them, kids would just work around them like they aren’t even there, and they are illogical. There are more pressing issues to solve; for example, put the money towards ACTUALLY recycling. We have recycling bins, yet they go to trash anyway. Or you could send it to band and repair instruments and do all sorts of good things there. Or you could even send it to sports and fund gear; cleats, shoes, etc. it is exclusive that there is a $60 fee for most sports, and excludes those less fortunate. It would make more sense to fund all the gear and make sports free, as well as having the side effect of more kids playing sports. It is a proven fact that sports improve grades because we have something to work for, something to motivate us to not let grades dip. It would improve friendships because kids in sports talk to other people more often, improve grades because there is a minimum grade to do sports, and it would improve the health of all those involved. For example; wrestling is intense. It’s a hard. They do conditioning. By the end of a season anyone who joined is in tip top shape. Or, even better yet, make lunches cost less! School lunches are very expensive for those in the middle region where their parents make too much for free lunch, yet paying for lunches still rids them of a large amount of money. If you have money to spare for something petty like putting phones away, which the main majority of us do anyway, why not make food more accessible?
