I strongly support the transfer of the Leboalangwe Brick Making Plant to the MMALERARAMODIJO People’s Forum. This initiative represents a strategic intervention that will deliver sustainable employment opportunities, equip community members with critical technical skills, and stimulate inclusive local economic growth.
By empowering youth and reducing poverty, the project directly advances national priorities for equitable resource allocation, rural development, and socio‑economic transformation. It ensures that development benefits remain rooted within the community, fostering accountability, dignity, and long‑term resilience.
The handover is not only urgent but essential to align with government’s mandate of promoting job creation, skills development, and poverty alleviation in historically disadvantaged areas.
I therefore urge the Department of Public Works to act decisively in transferring this plant, as it will serve as a cornerstone for community empowerment, economic justice, and sustainable rural upliftment.
