Reason
This demand is important because EPWP workers provide real and valuable public services, but many experience employment that is temporary and uncertain. The demand for permanence is fundamentally about employment security, recognition of work, and the ability to plan for the future.
Why the demand matters
Job security EPWP placements are generally temporary. Permanent employment would provide greater stability for workers who depend on their income. Recognition of workers' contribution Workers perform essential tasks in communities. The campaign argues that sustained service should be properly recognized rather than repeatedly treated as short-term work.
Household stability A more secure income can make it easier for workers to plan for food, housing, education, transport, and other household expenses. Dignity and fair treatment The demand expresses the view that people who consistently work and serve their communities should have a pathway to greater employment security.
Long-term community services Communities benefit when experienced workers remain in roles and build knowledge of the areas they serve. A pathway beyond temporary work The central issue is not simply getting another short-term EPWP contract. WORK MARCH MZANSI is calling for a system that gives qualifying EPWP workers a genuine pathway toward permanent government employment.

The petition is important to me because EPWP workers are not just temporary workers.They are backbone of the communities.For year they've been cleaning,building and caring and serving with dedication.but still are treated as temporary with no job security,no benefits and low pay.
EPWP should be permanent Position because they work permenent work.They have family to feed so they deserve decent. Stable job.They work permanent employees so they should be Permenent employees.I signing for EPWP workers under lebowakgomo community who deserve permenent employment.
