Petition addressed to: County Commissioners, Board of Zoning Appeals, the AMA board of directors
We, the people of Delaware county, oppose the changing of any land currently zoned for recreational, conservational, or residential usage in order to switch to commercial or industrial zoning in the interest of building data centers or other large industrial projects. We support a moratorium on all data center planning and construction of AT LEAST one year to investigate the potential impact on the environment and surrounding communities. We oppose the use of eminent domain by any business or corporation against the people of this county.
Reason
This petition is important because the people of Delaware County do not want to see anymore of their natural areas ruined by big corporations. We do not want our water polluted or used up entirely by these data centers. We do not want to breathe the polluted air these data centers emit. We do not want our beautiful night sky illuminated with security and parking lights the data centers put off. We do not want to see our wildlife killed or harmed in any way by these big data centers taking over their natural habitats. These data center projects do not benefit Delaware County in the long term and are not needed or wanted!
